Hi Guys

Just need some advice from anybody who might have these 2 routers.

DLink 2750U and Huawei HG532S

Im using a Fire Tv, but unfortunately it doesnt read my 2.5 inch self powered external. I have at home a Huawei HG532f, and have successfuly added my drive so that the router picks it up. Problem is, that it plays the movie or video for a few minutes, then freezes up and kicks me out.

so Question 1 is: does anybody know why its freezing kicking me out?

Question 2, does anybody have the above 2 routers, and using it as a sort of NAS setup?

Im keen to know what the issue might be, or if the above can be resolved.

Thanks in Advance

It could be drawing too much power, try get a dual power usb an test.

Do you use Huawei as a router or an ordinary LAN device? If later, you might have IP conflict. Disable DHCP server on Huawei.

aye? I use the Huawei as router, with my ethernet cable attached to it if that is what you asking?

Don’t have the above devices. Just wanna ask does the routers have usb ports were you plug in your drive into. The usb port on routers are a bit iffy. Rather map the drive on a lan.

I have the 2750U, and using the USB port was an absolute disaster for me when I gave it a go around 2 years ago. I can't blame the router though, it is cheap, and I should have been more careful.

From what I can remember:

- It was slow to navigate
- The external drive I had plugged in was on permanently. It didn't switch off when it wasn't in use. And the drive I had didn't have an on / off button
- Disabling the USB media sharing thing in the router settings nuked the folder which had all my media in. I was a very sad panda after losing all of my stuff

I don't remember if I even got as far as trying to stream. I think the fact that the drive wouldn't turn off put me off, so I just plugged the drive into a media player I had.
