Router trouble

Hello,

I have a TP Link WR 841HP router that I am struggling to connect to my Fibre line.

I setup the router correctly via my laptop but the weird party is that when I disconnect my laptop from my router I loose my internet and WiFi connection. Any idea why my internet connection only works only while plugged into my laptop.

You are going to have to clarify what disconnect your laptop from my router actually entails..

To me it sounds like you are unplugging the ethernet cable from your laptop that's connected to the router and you do not have WiFi on the router enabled and/or configured, so your laptop loses connection to the router..

Thank you for replying.When I remove the ethernet cable from the laptop, the WiFi turns off.I am pretty sure I have WiFi enabled on the router but I will check.I am replacing a router as the other one broke

When you remove the ethernet cable from your laptop check that the wifi adapter on the laptop is enabled. Sometimes it remains disabled.

If you have replaced the router, have you set up the SSID to be the same as that of the replaced router?
