RouteSentry for Vista (beta) - please help me test

I'm not really a depressed wreck Mr. Shakey ;) I've got a grin on my face :p

Hey thanks for going staying up, I went to bed :/

Anyway I'm sure I got it working that once, but I got caught up with work and now when I try it just hangs on "Verifying username and password" when I try to dial up to my IS account. This is only when default gateway is on. I doesn't appear to even get that far when it's not
 
I have a Billion 7300G and want to get a Vista machine working with the Vista version of Route Sentry.

If I change the router from bridge to half-bridge mode, does this cause a problem for the XP PCs that I have connected to the router which are currently using the XP version of Route Sentry? Will I need to change anything on those XP PCs when changing the router from bridge to half-bridge mode?

As far as I can see on my 7300M, you can't have Bridged and Half bridged (pppoe relay) on at the same time.

The only suggestion I have for you is to create two accounts on Vista, dial up and disconnect again if you want to switch, since Vista can't have more than one dialup account active ;)
 
Here's an odd request.. but.. can we perhaps get a third, yes 3rd connection option for unshaped + a manual addition of ip's to route to it perhaps?? This would be handy e.g. games that run on the side while other things go thru shaped connection.. (in games i wonder if they can't make the control signaling like that.. bah getting off point) OR e.g. VOIP, while your web surfing is going thru international shaped etc and your local stuffs like myadsl trolling ;) goes thru local?

I seem to have my 7300G running in half bridge mode now.

To answer my own question, it seems as if the XP machines I have connect fine using the XP version of RS, as they did before in bridge mode.

My Vista machine (without establishing any dial-up connections) seems to use the account setup on the router by default, which is great. Then if I start using the Vista version of Route Sentry, that also works fine. Dialling up with my local account and then using the international account setup on the router.

Can't wait to see if a WiFi cell phone will connect OK using the credentials stored on the router . First have to get myself a WiFi cell phone though :)

hmm 2nd November 2008 and my RouteSentry 0.05 Beta 5 just expired? What am I missing?

=> Right click on the RouteSentry icon and run in administrator mode.
=> Select your local connection and select your international connection
=> Check all the boxes on the 1st page
=> Click Set up routes now

Just to add to this. If you setup a pppoe connection for local then you need to select your NETWORK adapter for the international connection. (and vice versa)
I was selecting local pppoe connection and leaving international empty. It will not work unless you select network adapter for the non PPPoe connection.
Would have saved me about an hour of going thru other posts. But finally got it to work. :D
 
any idea how quickly routesentry 1.01 will be updated to make it more compatible with Windows 7 Beta 1? It install perfectly fine, etc. only when you put your router into half-bridge mode and select the LAN adapter as international and the PPPOE connection as local, the routing does not get updated correctly an the following error occurs:

11/01/2009 20:30:18 Finished creating routing table

is there a way around this perhaps?? :(
 
Problem resolved in other thread.....works like a charm...never used it on Vista before hence i did not knwo about that little option you had t ounclick under your dial up :D
