Hi

Im not sure what to search for here, maybe some can help, or just point me in the correct direction... :)

Currently I have a 4mb adsl line with telkom, but I have two accounts. I use webonline shaped for int and webafrica unshaped prepaid for WoW.

Thing is I spend my life changing the username and password in the router setup when I want to play WoW and sometimes I forget to change it back, and then I get a nasty shock in the morning!!

Any way I can sort this out with some kind of routing?

Thanks guys

Set up bridge mode on your router, then set up your unshaped as a pppoe dialup connection on your desktop, when you fire up wow, dial up the connection, just remember to kill it when it's no longer needed, alternately a mikrotek box will do the trick, but that's a different story entirely

Woudnt try setting up routing tables if you can't get Half-bridge working :P

Won't ipcop also be able to help?

O/T

WTF is up with the +1 posts? If you have something to say then say it but posting +1 is about as much help as boomroker posting in the WoW forums. I would like to read threads without having to scroll past +1 every second post please. If you are post count whoring rather create a thread called +1 and keep posting in there.

There's a couple of different ways of going about it, though probably the easiest for you without changing router hardware etc, is prolly RouteSentry. Just search the forum for it, there are LOTS of threads.

bit

ok im using a zyxel modem, one of those standard telkom issues back in the day... trying to get the model no. now (im at work!)

ive been doing some reading and this looks damn complicated. there is a lot of good info, but some conflicting info too... and its not all in one spot!

question, if I change my router to bridge mode, do I need to enter the account details in the router (of the account that will use most of the time) and then simply setup the "dial-up" on my desktop and that will override the default when I activate it?

Sounds simple, but from what it sounds... it everything BUT simple!

Exactly that, but if you have more than one pc connected to the router, they will use the default account and your machine will use the dialup as preference

ok I have tried that already and I could not get a connection at all from my PC. Is there anything that I would need to change on my PC?

Coz currently all I have is my default gateway pointing to my router when my router in in ROUTER mode. So what Im saying is, when I change it to BRIDGE mode, do I need to run Connection Wizzard and use that broadband option??

Just be careful as Full Bridged Mode will remove the default PPPOE connection. You need to look for Half Bridged Mode. That will allow a PPPOE connection from the Router and your PC.

thats what I said :o

that would be for the "exception" account. so I simply add the other account details into the router under bridge mode...

and on the PC if i DONT use the new connection i configured then it should work with the normal account

gees im confused

no you don't

just add a new connection wizard

Connect to the Interwebs->Set Up My Connection Manually->Connect Using A BB Conn that requires a username and password->Fill in the blanks

PC Figures out the rest
