OK

Im looking for a decent RPG game to play, when saying this remember im a avid Final fantasy fan,.

I like turn Based games a lot. It can be PC or Ps2, i dont really wanna play FFx again but if i have to i will, FF12 was just uber boring.

Come gents Help a fellow gamer out here.

A friend recommended Titans Quest.

Hmm,
Turn based + RPG + ps2 = Lord of the Rings Third age comes to
mind... TQ is a fun hack and slash :)

Theres The Witcher, which is a very nice PC RPG im enjoying atm

Witcher seems fun but got boring Quick, it lacked substance, i hate going on petty missions to save the village from ghosts or an infestation of rats.

I can see that im going to have to Dust of my old copy of Final Fantasy again.

Lacked substance?? lol. Of all the PC RPGs out there right now , it's probably the only PC RPG with ANY substance, the rest are fluff and just rehash the same old same old mechanics.

Unless you define substance as "having a zillion class/race options" or "a massive skill/proffession tree " and "ability to grind for new cool gear"

So if Diablo/Titan Quest is "substance" to you, then yes stay away from the Witcher. The Witcher is about the plot and the psychological character development , not equipment, uber spells or grinding levels.

Anyhow, if you're the Action-RPG type , maybe look at Hellgate: London. I'm only mentioning it, because i got Witcher and Hellgate together ....Hellgate bored me to tears, but i could see there's a big gear/skilltree/level/building up char thing going vs. Witcher which hooked me for quite awhile with the dialogue/plot/how the world grows on you as you go on. So maybe if Witcher is boring, Hellgate might work for you ;).

None are turn based though. Maybe Neverwinter Nights 2 [and expansions] might be close enough, as it's technically turned based.

Anyhow that's PC, on PS2 there's alot of Final Fantasy types , the ones i enjoyed [and they're actually available for dirt cheap!]

Shadow Hearts : Covenant
Baldur's Gate : Dark Alliance
Xenosaga Episodes I/III
X-Men Legends I/II
Kingdom Hearts [any version]

OK

Maybe my assumption of Witcher was little rash, i played it for a few hours and got kinda annoyed with it, cant remember why exactly i got bored.

Not sure if i should Attempt it again, I hear Kindom of hearts is good, but living in richards Bay is just uber balls.

There is like nothing here.:p

Witcher has tone of substance. The only two current games which compete with it for substance are mass effect and never winter nights 2 expansion mask of the betrayer.

The rest are all hack and slash action games with no substance or like oblivion with a very poor story lacking any depth whatsoever.

Try playing Diablo 2 with LOD or Baldur's Gate or "that other BG type game" again :)

Old games are so much fun!

In your defense though, Witcher does start of VERY slow. The initial "outskirts" with the "little village syndrome" is just the beginning of a pretty long game.
