LOL.

These tin foil hats you trying to flog are most probably made up from all the spare Xbox heatsinks lying around Maestro's workshop.:D

Once again clever business.:D

LOL.... @Maestro, you are a clever businessman,

The more you promote/suger coat the Xbox 360, hopefully the more sales will be made by uninformed viewers.

Thus your business grows/is kept very busy.;)

I wouldn't be suprised if Doobi, Kage ,M-Helix,Dohc and the Gang are in kahoots with you.:D

Uninformed ... suger-coat ... promote ... wow ... Sony fanboi alert

So when you buy a car, lets say a FORD ... which stands for Fix Or Repair Daily ... does anyone say ... hmm ... uninformed decision ... should have bought a Subaru Impreza ST ... the poor sod.

I commend your brand loyalty. It's amazing in this time of global credit crunch that people blow huge wads of cash on the PS3. World hunger is probably a better past time.

I'm 27 years old ... guess what ... I've never had a permanent post at a company. Yet I've survived. I didn't know much about electronics, but I'm learning every day with the Xbox 360.

Also, the parts in comparison to the PS3 is affordable. I don't think people want to pay R1.5k for a replacement laser for that so-called uber Blu-Ray drive.

So yes, I'm a business man out of choice. its better than sitting @ home with my Matric, 10 diploma's and a near-complete Communication Science degree.

I've seen the work of these 'so-called repair shops' dotted around our country. The standard of work is shocking. I don't see the need to rip people off and have their machines die after 2-3 months.

Due to MI Digital's swap-out policy, you out of luck once the 1 yr warranty runs out.

But beware your soul when a PS3 breaks ... because I get phone calls asking me if I repair them ... I refuse ... my bottomline would disappear in a jiffy.

So yes, I'm probably in cahoots as you insinuate with Doobi and the rest.

Takes one to know one mate :p

@ Maestro, my post was not a personal attack or judging you, nor was it aimed at saying your business is a waste of time, it was merely to take the pi$$ outta you guy's. guess i should have posted it in friday.:o

Funny you put it like that. I'd say of the "uninformed viewers" that have come here, typically looking to get a PS3, we've had about a 10:1 conversion ratio of peeps getting 360s.

You should know, you're one of them ;)

I cant deny that, but you cant take all the credit, i owned the PS3 first, and then i was looking at the market for the Xbox, did some google searching and bumped into this site and starting "chating" with you guy's.

I have played gears 1 now, just gears 2 , splinter cell conviction and alan wake left.

I will give credit to you guy's for one thing though, i was going to get an Xbox sometime or another, you just helped me get it sooner.

Dont think i'm getting all soft on you guys now, PS3 is still the way to go.

any reason as to why the elites are less prone ? Is it cause there are much less made ?

I've had a few Elites to repair for RROD & E74.

They're not less made ... just not many people want to shell out allot of money for what's essentially a Xbox 360 with a 120GB hard drive.

The manufacturing process to test is this year's models and the one's coming out next year. The die shrink will hopefully make a difference in the reliability.

So for our anniversary the missus gives me Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway - I blow the dust (figuratively) off the 360 after a few months of inactivity (literally) only to finally understand what every other victim has felt after being greeted by those three angry red lights. :o

Time to start what I can only assume will be a lengthy and costly (the receipt is currently MIA) procedure.

Normally I wouldn't bump an old thread but this tale certainly wasn't worth one of its own and lets face it - misery loves company. :(

Big sympathy! I live in fear and terror of the day my boy comes to tell me his one has got the RROD!

Hmmm, my xbox 360 is sounding SICK. So sick that i have a feel RRoD is coming very soon. Its an NTSC-J console and i bought it early 2006... Whats the cost of fixing the RRoD? what do u charge maestro ?
