I am so lucky to have spotted you guys. Thing is... this is my second Xbox 360 now, and the same thing is happening to it. What happened and what is happening again is that certain games fail. I currently only own 4 games. After playing on the 360 for about 4-6 months, Gears of War and Assassin's Creed get alot of read errors and then (lol'd) when I insert the discs into the tray, a screen comes up and says: "To play this game you must insert it into an Xbox 360".
BUT
Oblivion and PGR4 works beautifully. WTF?!
This new console is about 6 months old... or 5...
HELP MAESTRO!!!
Not to mention it sounds like a jackhammer when trying to read those games... and yes the are scratch-free
Well after a protracted conversation with M$oft (why is their VOIP so bad?) they're sending a box for me to ship the console off to them. I'd be pretty pissed if I was an avid gamer - ETA for device being returned . . . 3-5 weeks.![]()

I followed the instructions here - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showpost.php?p=2106918&postcount=14Wha ..! Dude did you tell them you're in SA? We're not supposed to get "coffins" here?
how did the conversation go, are you shipping it back to Europe? What about MI Digital?
They say its because it is out of warranty.HUH?
Why is it being shipped off to them?
Luckily my neighbour is even less of a gamer than I am so he quite happily lent me his console.Might I suggest that that time frame sounds a tad optimistic. I hope I am wrong.
Yeah - well I cant say I'm too impressed at this stage.Hmm, perhaps MS SA have changed their process? For the better I guess, but we'll just have to wait and see.
wouldn't maestro be a better bet then? seeing as it is out of warranty at least
geez, 3-5 weeks? typical MS.
I don't force my services on anyone.
Is he free? It may be out of warranty but they're still covering the repair.wouldn't maestro be a better bet then? seeing as it is out of warranty at least

Glad to hear that mate... would be disturbing otherwise
I have used Maestro's services before and recommend sending your xbox to him, I have not had a days problem with mine and it was pretty screwed when it got to him.
LOL
Thanks dude
Just be careful of the dust ... my medical bill is in the post![]()
I'm sure your prices are considered to be fair - I hope not to have insinuated otherwise but as Microsoft is apparently honouring their commitment I might as well take advantage of it - free is always better than a low price + shippingI wouldn't make a living if my services were free. My prices are reasonable though!
My standard repair that also fixes RROD, is R300 excluding shipping. Compare that to the price of a new Xbox 360 @ retail or MI Digital's handling fee ... it holds up quite well![]()
Microsoft will give you a replacement unit from Europe (UK). If it's new or refurbished only you will know when it arrives. Have a look at the MFR date on the back of the console when it arrives in a few weeks.

Thats pretty decent. I used to fix a lot of PS2's and the replacement parts aren't exactly cheap. It also takes some to take the suckers apart, repair and put back together again.
