Hi, I apologise in advance, as I possess barely intermediate knowledge when it comes to networking. I can access UKZN's wireless connection from my digs - I am a student there, I'm not doing this illegally. I want to be able to watch live streaming sport on Supersport after hours and would like to know how to set it up. I see in Windows Media Player there is the option to configure the proxy for RTSP, but it greys out the "Use Browser Settings" option and autodetection doesn't seem to work. At no stage does it offer a box to enter my username and password when loading the streaming video (as it does with Skype). Is there anyway to configure the proxy to prompt me to enter my username and password or force it to use the browser settings? Again, forgive me if this is nonsensical. Thanks in advance, intelligent forum users :)

Have you tried VLC instead of WMP? It seems to have better streaming than WMP(IMHO)...

Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > Advanced Settings

You can enter in proxy settings here. This is where most MS software gets the proxy settings from and it may force WMP to use it.
