RTX 2000 Ada (Mobile Workstation) - Can it play (some) games?

I can't find much on it on the interwebs. Obviously because it is not a gaming card and on the new side.

But I am thinking of lending my Gaming PC to someone who desperately needs something for a couple of months. That will however mean that I can't play Hitman 3.

Any sort of idea from someone who has a similar card in their workstation and managed to play some AAA titles on medium to High graphics.

Games:
- Hitman lll
- Forza Horizon
- Starfield


I'll be happy even if it can just run Hitman lll for now .

Or anyone with the RTX 4060 mobile GPU that has played any of the games above ? I don't think the 2000 ADA will have the same performance though?

It's important that we look at the mobile GPU's.
 
All ultra settings 1080p (results as per chat GPT)

Hitman III about 60-70fps
Forza horizon 60-70fps
Starfield 40-60fps
 
I really can't imagine you facing any issues around performance if you're running 1080p and happy to turn down some settings then go for it.
Your concern should simply be how annoying it is to game on a laptop vs a desktop.

That's what the GPU itself is capable of, but it will be very laptop-dependent in terms of cooling/power limits, etc.

If all you care about is 1080p 60fps then go for it, get an external keyboard, mouse and screen so you dont have to sit hunched over a tiny laptop monitor.

Performance should be comparable to anything from a 1050ti through to a 3060 depending on your workload.. So playing things like hitman/forza should be easy.
 
I don't have direct experience with the RTX2000, but the mobile workstation GPUs are capable of running games (They're the kind of card you might do game development on, so you would expect them to have 3d acceleration)

The power limits are different and the priority on components is slightly adjusted, but it will surely play Hitman 3 without much of a hassle.

Ah yes, I stream to my PC (moonlight) and use an Xbox Remote. Otherwise it is using a Hub with 3 displays, mouse and keyboard.

From my experience with past Dell Precision (5550) it is throttled quite a bit. Works amazing for my CAD/BIM software though as it just needs short bursts of power. The Dell Precision 5690 seems to be a bit thicker though, so maybe thermals are slightly better. I can't find much information on it. (Mobile Precision 5690, 16" IPS 1920 x 1200 60Hz, Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, 64GB RAM, RTX2000 Ada)

Review was done with RTX 1000 Ada which they compared to a RTX 4050, YMMV but I'd say you're good.
Expect a lot of throttling after long sessions, but you should definitely have some good baseline performance, even if it sits there with noisy fans.

Yeah, reviews are limited and struggle to find with the same specs. Either that or they all test with the RTX 5000 Ada.
 
Why don't you install the games on the laptop (or just copy your steam etc folders across) and test the performance?
