Rugby in general.

What is it with the hardon for this place? Some people are getting giddy with the whole idea. Tickets will cost an absolute fortune so it won't do anything for broadening the sport in the area and there will be bucketloads of tards blowing vuvuzela's ... that to me = fail.

SA Rugby should ban the vuvuzela !!!

I don't really have an opinion about where and why the test is played.
Only thing I can think about is that Ellis Park is in a really dodgy place but it is still the Bok Fortress.

90 000 Bok supporters shouting at 15 little men dressed in black... that's what!!!! If Loftus and Ellis Park are considered hostile environments for touring teams what can one expect from Soccer City!!!!! Tell you what!!! I will definitely be making a plan to attend this test at that venue...!! :-)

My mate will be devasted by the loss suffered by the Bulldogs :D

No Sharks results, or did they not have anything lined up?

On Tuesday defending champions the Blue Bulls named their team to face the Pumas in their Currie Cup opener on Friday night in Pretoria.

Gerhard van den Heever makes his return from a hamstring injury that saw him leave the field during the Super14 final.

Bees Roux and former Boland wing Hayden Groepes will make their Currie Cup debuts for the Blue Bulls along with youngsters CJ Stander and Danie Faasen.

The Blue Bulls will also play with a very young centre pairing of Stephan Dippenaar and Stefan Watermeyer. Jaco Pretorius is still on the sideline with an injury.

Gary Botha will captain the side from the scrum.

The team is:

15. Jaco van der Westhuyzen
14. Gerhard van den Heever
13. Stephan Dippenaar
12. Stefan Watermeyer
11. John Mametsa
10. Jacques-Louis Potgieter
9. Ruan Snyman
8. Gerrit-Jan van Velze
7. Derick Kuun
6. Deon Stegmann
5. Fudge Mabeta
4. Flip van der Merwe
3. Werner Kruger
2. Gary Botha (capt)
1. Dean Greyling

Substitutes: Bandise Maku, Bees Roux, Juandre Kruger, CJ Stander, Danie Faasen, Francois Brummer, Hayden Groepes.

Damn that is not a bad team for a CC team ...

Heard Ruan snyman isn't too bad and I am looking forward to see if JLP keeps growing as a flyhalf or if he fades away :D

They've got a serious forward pack there. And the backline is not to shabby either.

I think the only forward pack that will stand up to that pack is the Cheetahs.

I just hope that the bulls continue on in this way. I love how the team is young yet you know the names of 90% of the players.

Rugby on Wheels

No, it is not the Springbok tour bus. It is Wheelchair Rugby, also known as Murderball.

At the mention of Wheelchair Rugby the reactions are usually along the line of: “What?!” “How?” “Really?” and “That is so cool”.

A very dear friend of mine introduced me to this great sport. I would now like to introduce you to Wheelchair Rugby and answer all these questions of What, How, Who and Really?

Griquas vs Sharks

Half time score is 22-8 to the Sharks. The game has some niggle and looks like it will get worse in the second half.
