Seeing as I own an Elite, I don't see where the it adds no value aspect of the argument. The name choice was a misnomer as the hard drive capacity was the main aspect to differentiate it from the other models.
It offers an alternative black finish for number one, it has all the HD peripherals you need in the box (official MS HDMI cable and audio breakout box) and it has the 120GB HDD which is the biggest capacity on offer as we speak.
My feeling is that it will be replaced with a bigger capacity HDD in the near future in another Xbox 360 model, maybe the last quarter of this year.
The Resident Evil 360 is merely to coincide with the release, and if you're a fanboi you get a bundled copy of the game saving you some dosh.
As for the other "facts", going on and on about the PS3 'is better' and Wii 'outsells all other consoles', of which only the latter is true ... is a derailment of the thread IAP.
The thread should be of the merits of the possible extinction of the Elite, not more fanboi flaming of the respective consoles. It's not a console war thread for goodness sakes.
Hence the fact that I get really 'moeg en siek en sat' of the constant trolling of all the threads. Be it Xbox 360, PS3, NDS, PSP or Wii related.
It is immature to constantly get a fight going. Hence the reason for my valid response in Afrikaans to Defunct's post earlier.
And to add to that, despite the PS3 fans constant blase attitude towards the Xbox 360 ... it still has the overall lead over the Sony console.
There are people actually interested in the large game library it (360) has.
So spec-wise it (360) might miss a Blu-Ray player and full HD in terms of audio, it has a great Live experience (you get what you pay for) and in the US the Netflix service is proving to be a great success.
Streaming 720p over a broadband connection is a great initiative. I assume Europe will get the service once all the licensing and other issues are sorted out.
South Africans of course with the pathetic excuse of broadband over here, must just look enviously at true broadband services and the great entertainment it provides.
The future is not bleak, so the sooner PS3 fanbois realise that ... the better ...
