ok i just sent out a quote to 3 different camera stores asking for quote on the following

2 450d kits

2 filters

1 4gig sandisk extreme III sd card

1 gorilla pod (for a point n shoot)

how is it that the difference in price between the lowest and highest quote is R5600. i can buy a new 400d with that money!

So write back to them all with this exact question, and give no more information. Let them figure it out.
 
the 1st n 2nd quote had a R750 difference so i mailed the 3rd store n told them that the price was to much n that i was going to go with the one that was R5600 cheaper....

still no response from them hehe

doubt they will respond.
 
I discovered this great shop (actually wholesalers) with extremely good and very competitive prices. They don't just sell cameras and photography equipment but their is a whole department dedicated just to photography.

They are also really considerate and I know someone who got R1000 discount on an already great price on Canon 400D (when it was just released).

on the camera store issue. i ended up buying the 450 at BnH in Sandton City. Great bunch of ppl in the store who have lots of patience answering a truck load of newbie questions would recomend them to anyone wanting to do some shopping.
