Maybe someone have some info about this issue im having. As I understand there is not a big difference between 8 bit and 10 bit when gaming just want to know if its a monitor issue or settings dont want problems with a faulty monitor later. I can return the monitor but would prefer not to.

Just bought the monitor and when I set it at 1440p 165 hz 10 bit dp 1.4 cable I get these pixel tearing lines when running games and sometimes the screen flashes black. Hdr on or off no difference. Only goes away when setting to 8 bit.

With that said also can someone clarify windows setting and amd settings I have 8 bit or 10 bit option I dont see 8 bit with dithering so dont know if I set it to 8 bit is it only 8 bit or 8 bit with dithering.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know about pixel tearing lines, but I have seen the black flash thing with some GPU / Monitor combinations. For example, my R9 290 had it when driving my 4K monitor. My 1080 Ti does it just fine. I think a better cable might have solved it for me? Don't really know as I don't have the R9 290 anymore.

I did a very quick test on The Ascent in 10 bit colour and didn't see any issues on my S2721DGFA, but then again I'm not sure what this pixel tearing is supposed to look like. Like normal screen tearing? Is Gsync/Freesync on both in the monitor OSD and the Driver settings?

I have heard about the black flash as well. I dont seem to notice it in cod but Kena its the same lines that flicker.

Can I ask your settings 165 hz 1440p as well ? Have the exact same monitor with RX6700XT. Freesync on both places yes.

Excuse the pic noob editing there lol

Yup, running at 165hz 1440p. I only enabled 10bit when I read your post.
I tried a quick game of Doom Eternal as well, something which runs a bit faster, and didn't notice any problems.

Ok thank you for testing. Just tested with cod again without issues must be something in Tomb Raider / Kena as im getting 140 fps average on them
Beginning to think its a bandwith problem when running above120 hz / fps although dp 1.4 should be able to handle it.
Will see how it goes.

Thanks again
