A colleague of mine asked me for help on this issue.
She brought the phone to me - all her contacts (except Facebook and Whatsapp) disappeared and "she didn't do anything".
I assumed she'd toggled the "Contacts to display", but no - it was still set to "All contacts". I tried syncing back from her Google account - nothing.
I then copied all the contacts over from her previous phone (which she fortunately still had), but for some reason the wrong contact photos were assigned to some of the contacts.
I went in on Settings -> Application manager -> All - I cleared the data and cache on Contacts and Contact Storage apps.
Obviously the contacts had to be reloaded - did so, but some of the contact information is still mismatched.
I checked the old phone - the info is correct - so I'm not copying the error over from the other phone. It seems that the Contacts app is corrupting the info for some reason.
Any suggestions?
