SA Air Force reassures commitment to national security, defence

The South African Air Force has assured citizens of its readiness and commitment towards the national security and defence of the country. This emerged during the Prestige Award event at Pretoria's Waterkloof Airforce base.

The Air Force says the capabilities of the country's aerospace and defence industry were affirmed by the exceptional Rooivalk during its current deployment in the eastern DRC.

The deployment of the Rooivalk aerospace in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has contributed to peacekeeping efforts across African continents.

Deputy Chief of the Air force Major General Gerald Malinga has commanded the South African Air Force for their exceptional performance for remaining committed in serving and protecting the African continent.

He says despite various challenges there's a need to upgrade the Roorvalk. This is to ensure that it can maintain its capacity to defend and safeguard the nation.

“One cannot speak about outstanding performance of a particular capacity within the overall change of capabilities to say its doing well. It did well that then translate to the fact that we want to believe that we are able to protect and defend the republic and its people; its sovereignty and its territorial integrity."

Meanwhile, Colonel Padi Khoase for Bloemspruit Air Force Base attributes the achievement to all the leaders within the base who managed to maintain this high level of core competencies.

The South African Air Force plans to send 60 trainees to the Military Academy to pursue their degrees, that will include pilots, navigator's engineers and other support stuff.

It has assured that it is striving to increase the number of female candidates within different divisions.

Who would want bankrupt country run by a bunch of idiots?

Botswana has the Canadair CF-5. Basically the Canadian version of the outdated F-5. Mozambique has the MiG-21 :crylaugh:
The Saab Gripen on the other hand...they are generations ahead. There's just absolutely no comparison.
SweetFennyAdams, don't make statements which you can't back up - it hurts the rest of what you say. Went to the nearby airbase the other day and they were testing some serious equipment. No, we don't have the budget to keep the Gripen airborne as much as they should be, but it's not to say they're inadequate - they are in fact overkill for our needs and purposes. The ol' Cheetahs could stop the current Botswana/Mozambican air force from gaining air superiority over us no issues whatsoever.

Angola has Su-30K's which is more than a match for the Gripens.

SA Air Force reassures commitment to national security, defence ......and do it by flying their jets at full power low down over Pretoria at 22 hour. Idiots!

You'll find a jet even at minimum thrust Is rather loud. The Low level stuff is more than likely because both Pretoria AFBs are in the middle of residential areas.

Pilot training and experience is a different beast though.

Did you just mention pilot training in our air force since that is a joke. The elephant in the room is that those Su's have the range to take off and bomb Hoedspruit which can be problem if we end up in that theoretical war.

I still recall the mornings where you had multiple C-130 power up at 3 in the morning at Waterkloof.

Please don't speak if you know nothing. Although our military has numerous problems. The training of our top tier squadrons is top notch.

Oh and FYI, our combat squadrons aren't based at Hoedspruit.
