SA breaks 3Mbps average broadband speed

This seems like a piss poor way to calculate the average users' average speeds. I'm sure if you take out a few statistical outliers like academic institutions it will be much less.

look at Vodacom's upload average, then Vodacom is behind Cell C & 8ta....

Better link to compare apples with apples.

Better to dimension for download bias as 99.99% of users download more than upload.

Interesting, would've thought it is less. How is the 2.56Mbps calculated? Average of the different service providers' average or average based on the 3426 users (i.e. taking volume into account and weighted accordingly)?

This site isn't accurate - it has me sitting in a suburb 20km's away from where I actually am.

Oddly enough, while my local speed on the MyBB speed test page has me at 5mbp/s (4mb account on a 6mb line), I get higher speeds of 5.2mbp/s using the 'international' option.
