SA crime and 2010

I don't think Italy is the only country that has no faith in the SAPS. South African citizens don't even have faith in them ?

About three months ago my youngest son and a friend was held at gunpoint in front of our house and they stole his cellphone. At the Police station, we were told that they only wanted a statement from my son. When I asked if they didn't need a statement from the friend who obviously was an eye witness, they told me that he could go.

Two months later they wanted the friends contact details from us because, now suddenly the need his statement. In the meanwhile this friend has gone overseas to work.

So we haven't heard anything from them again. Trust the SAPS? What a joke!

Basically this indicates that Italy has no faith in the SAPS.... :D
yawn
No it does not and unless my understanding of the english language is somewhat diminished it reads that if needed, they would assist, as I am sure most nations would with an event of this scale.
Seems clear enough.

They would help by sending the Italian mafia to South Africa

The whole story:

Pretoria - Italy will, if requested, be ready to help South Africa with safety and security issues during the 2010 World Cup, deputy prime minister of Italy Massimo D'Alema said on Tuesday.

"We have no request yet but we are ready to co-operate for security during the 2010 World Cup," he said.

He was responding to a question on whether Safety and Security minister Charles Nqakula had approached Italy for help in training SA police in preparation for the upcoming world cup.

D'Alema was hosted by Foreign Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma in Pretoria where bilateral political and economic discussions between the two took place.

Dlamini-Zuma said Italy would help with its "expertise" when the time came for the country to host the soccer spectacle.

Angelface: It's not really SAPS as much as the judicial system which is the joke. I'm suprised that it only took two months to goto court actually.

They never said it did go to court? I'd be very surprised if they caught the guy to be honest.

when 90% of the murders take place in nyanga, i'd declare the area a war zone and send in army trucks and patrol the area 24/7

We actualy caught one of the thugs ourselves and delivered him to the police. And that is what makes me so mad.

The thug we caught is out on bail. But obviously, without the friend's statement they cannot go on with the case, and the other thug is still on free foot. Never caught him

Ridiculous. Seen it happen all too often too, the real joke is it seems if they're classified as juveniles nothing happens at all.

lol. Am awaiting the offical RSA response "No you damn racist Europeans".

Further I'll await 2010, "We are sincerely sorry that x% of Italian tourists were victims of violent crime". "We are currently taking steps and have created a special meeting to discuss thezze matters".

lol
