SA has a big fat problem

"with around 70 percent of all women being overweight"

Too much junk in the trunk.

I wonder what they consider overweight? Nobody notices overweight for real. BMI and public perception are 2 different things.

I know I'm fat - but accordingly to my BMI I am grossly obese. Even my dietitian told me that my ideal weight is too low for me. My ideal weight according to her calcs puts me just on the overweight line with BMI. Like wtf?

The sad thing about this is that parents allow this but they also will be the reason why kids have eating disorders when they get older.
No teenage girl/boy wants to be fat. Children are horrible bullies.

It is child abuse, just as much as not feeding them is.

It is unhealthy. Feed them broccoli not simba chips

If only that were the simple answer. I was sporty in primary school and my mom was pretty healthy with us. In fact she tried diet after diet to help me but yet I was the fat kid. :(

Only discovered in the past decade numerous health issues that were most probably the reason I couldn't lose weight. But now I can deal with them. On medication for the rest of my life. It's a hard battle but yay - I've lost 20kgs already the past 2 years! :D

70% of people doesnt have a gealth issue.

I myself have one and will be on medication for it. Other people have the same thing drink the meds and blame being fat on their condition not their lifestyle.

if more people ate healthy people will be diagnosed correctly and not just brushed over as another junk munching fat person.

I know a guy and his wife..... my age, known them since they were both kids.... these guys can eat and drink as much as they want and never ever put on weight........ stick people..... tis' crazy I tell you.....

The guy never played sport, save for a bit of hockey when he was in his early 20's , drank beer and coke like water.... no weight gain....

Sounds like me, got turned down from donating blood today for being under weight

Fantastic genes, i was like that before I developed this condition. Problem is though i was never healthy. Im more healthy now and i weigh 18kgs more. I ate as much of everything i could. I hate cooking so nothing was anything good.

Those people are in the minority, they dont show signs. some people are super smart or super pretty. The rest of us get fat from eating wrong.

Agreed. But unfortunately you don't have an illness that people can see so they just assume you're one of the overeating slobs that are too lazy to try to lose weight. People judge so easily. So if I feel like having a treat one day I get judged. Little do they know that I eat small healthier meals the rest of the time and do exercise now and again. But screw it my weight loss is my personal victory that they will never understand. And I don't need people like that in my life.

Biatch.

Meh. I get turned away because my blood is light pink not red.

You better get that checked out. You got blurred vision yet? Rash on your chest? Slurred speech?

If not, go now before it's too late

Exactly. People ne to start doing it for themselves not for someone else.
Still most people are judging because they know they are the lazy blobs. I applaude even chubster in the gym with me. Every skinny person as well, they like me probably was a chubster and have been putting in the hard work.

I do not have a metabolism. I have to workout twice a day. Then I have fat people in my life complaining while eating junk food that they just can't seem to get as skinny as me. And they tell me I am so lucky to be skinny, Then I blow my top. I eat less than the recommended calories daily, I gave up junk food and all the nice things in life. I don't remember when was the last time I have had any form of bread or pasta. I work out twice a day 6 days a week. It's not luck its faking hard work to be healthy and skinny.

And I'm hangry all the bloody time  :D not really. But broccoli does get boring when you like cooking as much as I do... I wish my house didn't have a kitchen.

// goes to make brocolli

Really sounds like you're having fun there, perhaps look at trying to get a healthier balance, maybe gaining a little weight won't kill you and you can eat something substantial.
