whats wrong with wikipedia? i've heard that it is actually much more accurate than any other encyclopedia out there?

if something is wrong it gets corrected? I don't see Books doing that?
I trust the knowledge of millions of people combined over a select few writing other encyclopedia - the system has a way of "correcting itself"

My Business Engineering lecturer (final year B Eng Industrial) went apesh*t when some students used Wikipedia in a project. Hence my feeling towards Wikipedia.

Dunno if Wikipedia has sharpened their act since then , but reading Wikipedia is fun sometimes.

Well, Universities really do hate Wikipedia because it *can* be unreliable at times. They also don't want everyone using wikipedia in their projects because that would result in quite a few very similar projects.

I've heard the same thing because wikipedia is always up to date.


As for rape, I find it an atrocity, and can't believe how out of control men are with their "desires". I would be disgusted if I gave into my animal instincts and raped someone. Just goes to show that maybe we haven't civilized much since the old cave man clubbing a women and dragging her into his cave.

In NZ you can send a 7 yo child 60km on a train, multiple bus journeys and back and not worry.

BA Engineering Industrial. We could never figure out why this was "engineering" when I was at the Technikon. Those guys passed 99%. No science involved. We passed at 60% and Chemical Engineering passed at 35%. Sorry, wrong thread.

to be honest with you, until this day not even an Industrial Engineer could explain to me what an Industrial Engineer does. I always got this jack of all trades, master of none idea on my head :D

Castration doesnt take your ability to have sex away. If you dont believe me, just look at the life of farrinelli. He was castrated and had more lovers than I would want to count. But that is neither here nor there. Rape has very little to do with sex...it's a control thing...power as well. This I know because my friend was raped by a dude that was castrated. He used a hosepipe. The only way we can make castration work for stopping rapists is to do the procedure with a blunt axe and then let him bleed to death. I completely support such a solution :P

To the OP, glad your daughters got out, I am sorry that they didn't get out sooner that they never had to go through the truama of rape.
This country is like a ffa match in a game, do whatever you want laissez faire, no one is going to do anything about it unless you do it to a celebrity, or make your case a high profile one

well at university things are bit more strict .... ECSA regulations and all that !

Forgot to mention the Washington Accord.

PS - ECSA is the Engineering Council of South Africa. In case you didn't know.
