SA online shops tested

I'm curious about the delivery times, was it the same courier for two deliveries perhaps?

Takealot 11 February 10:55
HiFi Corp 11 February 10:55

Makro 12 February 15:28
Dion Wired 12 February 15:28

I agree with the payment of Takealot. That whole payment process is kinda tedious. Just a normal EFT and proof of payment will work 100% Why do that whole 3rd party thing that it so painful?

It was indeed - same courier on the same route.

Guess on monday we are going to see a competion where we can win a 1TB hard drive :D
Back on topic, for Raru it has been their courier company who have let them down in the past. I have raised the issue with them and they said they will look into it. 3 times CourierIT could not find our address, which is pretty sad, considering it is their job to know the areas.

RPM when processing the payment did you use credit card or EFT or Ebucks(not sure dion wired /raru /ic). I prefer takealot & dion wired when it comes to credit Card Payments due to added security 3D OTP kalahari lacks when it comes to using credit card payments either the number you entered incorrectly.. read that a few cards were compromised... love my bank the first time I used my credit card online the bank phoned immediately...

Great test.

Shipping times are also dependent on whether the store currently have stock on hand, or have to order in the item. For us I see we had to order the stock in, which added the extra day.

For a future test I would suggest one you placie a order for an In Stock item, and then another order where one item has to especially ordered for you.

This would help test the backroom systems of the retailers involved.

This is a great reason to support Raru. Already posting feedback on the actual analysis. Good on you!

Kalahari always deliver my stuff within 24hours. I'm just lucky?

I ordered a dashcam from Kalahari last week. The estimated delivery time was one week (for stock) but I got it within 2 days. I was pretty pleased. I also had no issues with them in the past.

Don't even mention that name! CourierIT is the worst courier company ever! Telkom Mobile also make use of them. First of all, they can never find you (even if you work in a big government building), they take a week (or two) to deliver and they have no communications. I had to resort phoning their head office for a simple delivery. (Even a complaint on HelloPeter had no effect). I find RAM couriers the best by far. FNB and Vodacom use them and they are excellent.

Every hard drive that I have had delivered by courier has failed prematurely. Apparently the general couriers are not aware of how these should be handled. It will be interesting to see a follow-up article on how many of these companies delivered the drives in good condition.

What a pity that loot.co.za was not included in this test.

Clearly they've never heard of Google Maps etc.
