I hope the DA leaves the GNU. They tried it, it didn't work, and they're losing voters by appearing to be ANC lackeys

Not really, except if you count the verkramptes.

But at this point, it is unsustainable because it is clear ANC thinks this is GNU 1 with Mandela and 65% of the vote...

Nothing is stopping the DA from redeploying Whitfield elsewhere, I have already mentioned the vacant Steenhuisen Chief of Staff position.
Nope. According to Cabanac's interview on BizNews, he wasn't really doing much work in the last 3 months because Steenhuisen appointed an interim Chief of Staff who Cabanac believes is now the permanent one.

They can easily create a position out of thin air for Whitfield, remember how Winde suddenly needed an advisor just to accommodate Madikizela after lying about his qualifications?

Mp's get paid regardless of whether they are part of the GNU, or are you referring to something else?
Yes, the DA's energy deputy Minister's Samantha Graham's daughter is employed in the office of the DM of trade and Industry, formerly Whitfield, and she is obviously not the only one as we know the DA does love employing friends and family even when they pretend to abhor the practice.

So the politicians will be fine but there are people who have build livelihoods around the jobs that were created from the GNU.

The right thing for the DA is to leave the GNU today. Immediately call for a Vote of No Confidence in CR and also fresh and early elections.

But, on the other hand, the DA is the ANC. I do not expect them to do the right thing.

They can call for the Good Lord himself to come down from heaven to fix the country, what matters is whether they can achieve what they are calling for.

Let's wait and see. Maybe, just maybe, we all will be talking about former president ramaphosa in a week from now.

A vote of no confidence will likely be supported by the majority of parties. CR will not survive this one.

Conditions are not right for a snap election and I don't believe they can be called willy-nilly.

What qualifications do you need for the position?

Who do you think will replace Cyril?

Who do you think will replace Cyril?

I do not know. Could be anyone. But, a successful vote of no confidence will likely be followed by a call for early elections. Who ever gets appointed in the interim will be irrelevant. The only question is, in the event of an early election in the next 3-6 months, will the ANC still get 30%?
