I largely expect the anc to do what they did a few weeks ago.. Bluster a lot and do fsck all, so basically what they've done for the last 30 years. It's about the only thing they have any skill and experience in.

I'd say the recent data is from the recent polls... They're flailing clearly, but acting as if nothing is wrong just like during the election campaign in 2024...

I think the ANC’s strategy is thus: they will keep the DA around in the GNU, because without them the government is done. However, they are attempting to flex their muscles and prove that in the event of deadlock, they have the support of the rats and mice who will do anything to vote against the DA.

It is a losing strategy as these rats and mice will not be as pliable as the ANC thinks. Just like no one thought the DA and EFF could work together - anything is possible. These guys are all just saving face.

The best prospects for the ANC’s success would be to form a trusting and amicable relationship with the DA. They won’t do this so will fight the DA at every policy battle and will lose each one. The pain the ANC is going to inflict on themselves is going to be brutal
