They are just making poor people even more poorer with their double standards of governance in Western Cape.

No idea about the Malema property story, but anything hidden behind a Paywall is generally propaganda, which is essentially what News24 is all about, lie behind the paywall, hope the masses are riled up by the headlines, if they are caught out, apologise and lie again.

Doesn't like 85% of the DA's municipal financial intake go straight to Luthuli House? Funny how even then Gaugeng poor are still getting poorer.

South Africans as a whole have one question: Where is all the money going?

Cute.... if its an unpleasant truth then its just propaganda. You really should get new talking points from your handlers Champy, they're getting old and tired now.

Let me guess, that someone just happens to not be you, because you go around listening to stories that are not based on facts?

More than 4 800 ANC councillors are expected to attend a mandatory roll call for public representatives in local government in Soweto on Monday.

The party says that at the gathering, its councillors will account for work done after taking a pledge during a previous roll call after the 2021 municipal elections.

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa will also unveil the party’s action plan for local government after a two-day special national executive committee (NEC) meeting.

Delivering his political overview on Saturday, Ramaphosa said the action plan would set out specific roles for ANC councillors, mayoral committees and caucuses, as well as necessary interventions and monthly reporting requirements.


“Once adopted, the action plan will be shared with all ANC deployees, setting out clear, measurable tasks both in government and the ANC. Municipal infrastructure in our country is showing significant decay and collapse in critical areas, such as roads, water, and electricity,” Ramaphosa said.

The president said that was the case across rural and urban areas.

“Part of the action plan must prioritise the delivery and maintenance of social and public infrastructure to communities. Our interventions must also be bolder and more targeted to ensure more economically and spatially equitable access to quality basic and social services.

“The people must be able to access government services easily, and when they have to travel, the transport infrastructure must be accessible, safe, and affordable,” Ramaphosa said.

The ANC held a similar gathering in Ekurhuleni in October 2021, when nearly 10 000 ANC local government candidates made a pledge to the people of South Africa.

At that hybrid gathering, councillor hopefuls promised “to do better and be better”. The pledge also included correcting what had gone wrong and ending “corruption, fraud, and patronage, no matter what form it takes and no matter who is involved”, as well as committing themselves “to strive each and every day to improve the lives of the people they serve”.

Speaking ahead of the event, ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula said a lot of work and preparation had gone into the roll call.

“We have engaged each and every municipality. The action plan is going to be the plan for service delivery to improve the work we need to do on the ground in terms of our wards and developments.
