SA Politics Thread Part 11: The GNU Normal

But that would bring Apartheid back or something... At least that's what the cadres and their media friends tell me...
It would also make our TV famius degreeless political analyst have conniptions on twatter, so reckon it's worth the apartheid risk

The DA and the EFF must and are getting cooked for this. 🤣

Lol, because having random people racially and ethnically profile others, trying to use public health facilities, to look for and stop bloody foreignas ala dompas checking is always a good thing.

P.S. Those two accounts you're praising are verkrampte MAGA accounts...

Not a strong candidate? Why are the ANC, EFF and MK crying about it then, if she poses no threat to them?
Because it's disrespectful to even think people of Soweto, Thokoza, Alexandra, Tembisa and Co. will vote for Helen Zille. 🤣

No.

The referendum was the final blow to the Apartheid regime.

69% of whites voted for a free, non-racial, democratic society. not "deciding to let black people run SA".
Everyone knew what the end result was for the next elections when they cast that referendum vote.
Doesn't matter how it was package as the promised package never materialised

From Facebook earlier today:

Most ANC-supporting people have absolutely no clue how radicalising the last decade has been for tens of millions of ordinary South Africans. Zero clue.

I’m not talking about the Twitter warriors or the political junkies who live on X and News24 comments. I’m talking about normal South Africans. The oke who just wants to watch the Bokke or Bafana Bafana on a Saturday, the lady in line at Checkers sharing TikToks of funny pets, the guy at the garage buying a pie on the way to work. People who used to shrug off politics because they thought it didn’t affect them.

They’re awake now, they are angry and they blame the ANC with valid reason.

Whether you ANC supporters think it’s “fair” or not doesn’t matter anymore. They see you as the bad guys. And they’re right.

So before you jump into the comments with the usual nonsense about apartheid or colonialism, sit down and listen. Your movement has lost the little credibility it had left, and if you are selectively blind, here is a taste of some self-awareness.

Here are the facts:

Fact 1:
Tens of millions of South Africans started this year in the dark, literally, because you’ve destroyed Eskom. No power, no jobs, no growth, no hope. Billions stolen, entire SOEs looted into the ground, and the only thing that works at Eskom is the revolving door for corrupt CEOs.

Fact 2:
Tens of millions of South Africans have watched crime spiral completely out of control. People shot and kidnapped in drive-bys. Women raped and murdered and children abducted. Farmers slaughtered. Businesses bled dry by mafias demanding “protection fees.” Police stations with no petrol for their vans, a defunct defence force while ANC politicians cruise past in R3 million blue-light convoys.

Fact 3:
After seeing all this, ordinary South Africans go online, and what do they see? ANC cadres defending the criminals. Making excuses. Calling them “victims of apartheid.” Telling us “unemployment causes crime” as if that justifies someone kicking down your door at midnight. Or worse, laughing it off while posting selfies from the VIP lounge at OR Tambo with money stolen from the poorest of the poor.

And while this chaos unfolds, thousands of qualified professionals, doctors, engineers, teachers, have packed up and left the country. Their children have moved overseas, families divided, never to return. Millionaires with businesses that employed thousands have closed shop, taking their tax money and skills elsewhere, building new lives in countries where the government doesn’t treat them like ATMs while offering zero safety, security, or basic services in return.

The brain drain is real. The wealth drain is real. And you caused it.

Meanwhile, criminals walk around like there’s no tomorrow. They are the untouchables. The mafia dons of politics. And let’s not forget the idiot in the red jumpsuit, a man who belongs in a 2x4 jail cell, not Parliament. But when you consider that a fish rots from the head down, it’s no wonder criminals know they can loot, rape, steal, plunder, and destroy at free will.

And yet, through it all, we can only give thanks to the Rainbow nation Bok rugby world champions and the endless stream of sportspeople flying our flag proudly. They offer us moments of unity, hope, and pride that your government the ANC has stolen from us in every other aspect of life. They remind us what this country could be, if only it wasn’t being gutted by thieves in suits.

How sad it is, Mr. Ramaphosa, that you and your band of looters hate the people of this country so much that you’re willing to destroy it. You were given a silver platter to make a difference and to restore SA but instead you have well and trully f****d it up. Shame on you.

No matter how much money you and your gang steal, no matter how many mansions you hide it in, your legacy, your family name, to put it mildly, is f**d.

These are the facts. You may not like them, but you cannot deny them.

The people who just wanted to live in peace now know politics is the reason they can’t. They see your corruption, your arrogance, your broken promises. They see you stealing billions meant for housing, schools, hospitals, and they know your own children will never set foot in a public hospital, never sit in a freezing classroom with no roof, never walk home through a gang-ridden township.

Ordinary South Africans now know you’ve built a two-tier society, luxury for the elite, chaos for the rest.

And they blame you.

When they see a child shot in a township crossfire, they think of every ANC politician who chanted “Amandla!” while stealing money meant for police reforms.

When they sit in the dark during load-shedding, they picture the Guptas laughing in Dubai, Zuma dancing at Nkandla, and every minister telling them to “be patient” while signing another corrupt tender.

When another 500 jobs vanish because a factory closed after the latest blackout, they remember the billions stolen from Transnet, Eskom, SAA, Prasa ….. the list is endless.

They know your empty slogans about “service delivery” are lies. They see the potholes, the sewage in the streets, the collapsing hospitals, the crime stats climbing like a taxi cutting the yellow lane, and they know you did this.

Even the moderates, the ones who defended you for years, are done, because you have never cleaned up your own ranks. You protected the looters, the killers, the corrupt mayors, the useless ministers. You let the thugs run wild while you smiled for the cameras and told us it was all “under control.”

Well, it’s not under control. It’s a mess. A mess you created and people are done listening to your excuses.

“State capture wasn’t the ANC, it was just a few bad apples.” Nonsense.
“Loadshedding is complicated.”
No, corruption is complicated.
Fixing power stations is not rocket science. “Crime is a legacy of apartheid.”

After 30 years? That dog won’t hunt anymore.

Ordinary South Africans have had enough.

They’re leaving your party in droves, and they are voting differently. Some are even leaving the country altogether. Because they know the ANC doesn’t care if they live or die, as long as the tenders keep flowing and the blue lights keep flashing.

And they blame you.

For the darkness. For the crime. For the collapsing economy. For the hospitals with no medicine and the schools with no textbooks. For the sewage in the Vaal River and the bullets in our streets. For the families torn apart as children and parents flee for safer lives overseas.

And yes, I come from a white privileged and educated past, and I won’t apologise for it. Because it afforded me, like so many others, the chance to start businesses, train unskilled labour, give them a skill, create jobs and just give back.

But all you see, Mr. Ramaphosa, is just another “white ou,” part of the minority that you lie about to the majority, telling them we’re some great threat. What absolute K@K.

As Vusi Thembekwayo, a proud black South African entrepreneur, so aptly put it……you lie to your own people, promising them a food hamper in exchange for their vote. Clowns get voted into power, and you were given the keys to the headmaster’s office.

And you’ve trashed the entire school.

The End.(share)
Des Kiely. A proud salt of the earth job creating South African 🇿🇦 that is gatvol.
