Example, If your property is stolen, you need to open a case, because you are able to and you should have an interest in your own violation.

e.g 2, you are murdered, you obviously cannot open a case, the state will take it over, open a case and do all the heavy lifting.

eg 3, suppose a mentally disabled person, who has no family to rely on is violated in some way, the state will take over the case on their bahalf, open the case, investigate and prosecute, they can't say there is no complainant, therefore there's nothing they can do.

And now the example of this Judge, she is an employee of the state, if she engages in corruption, the people she is disadvantaging are victims, but most importantly the state is also a victim, because she is abusing her position.

In summary the state does not necessarily need a victim to open a case, but the victim is an important factor in having a successful prosecution, so pursuing a case when the victim is not interested could just be a futile exercise and a waste of resources.

Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala was responding to questions from evidence leader Advocate Norman Arendse about the raid at his Pretoria home by the police, where his firearms and other items were seized.

Controversial businessman, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala, has told Parliament’s ad hoc committee that he has trouble remembering a lot of things due to spending months in solitary confinement.

Matlala was responding to questions from evidence leader Advocate Norman Arendse about the raid at his Pretoria home by the police, where his firearms and other items were seized.

However, Matlala struggled to remember certain dates around the raid at his property after being questioned further by Arendse.

Matlala is giving evidence before the parliamentary ad hoc committee looking into police corruption at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre in Pretoria, where he’s currently detained awaiting trial for attempted murder.

He also told the committee that it was former minister, Bheki Cele, who assisted him to get his firearms back from the police, but he couldn’t remember the exact dates.

"The dates I just remembered now when they showed me the documents yesterday. Like I’m saying, a lot of things, I forget them. I’m in solitary confinement, I forget a lot of things," said Matlala.

lol why this small “shithole” at the bottom of Africa occupies his mind so much is hilarious. I was expecting sanctions. If the worst he can do is uninvite us makes it feel like one big troll. What payments is he talking about? His EO already cancelled all aid.

Also SA is a member of the G20 not an invited guest. If he doesn’t want us there he needs to revoke Visas.

It doesn't occupy his mind too much. He is sorting out many countries.

SA's G20 status could be revoked at any time. SA is not a top 20 economy. We don't actually qualify to be in the top 20 as we are a smaller economy. Google the top 20 economies.
 
There are countries in the G7 that are not in the 7 biggest economies in the world. There is no rule that says you HAVE to be in the biggest 7 or 20. When the G20 was started in 1999 South Africa didn’t have a top 20 economy but it was the biggest economy in Africa and is Africas representative. It is still the biggest economy in Africa.

No I don’t believe it. For a country as insignificant according to you as SA he talks an awful lot about it.

The AU is

Quite literally the reason for SA to be included was nullified in 2023
