It's a sunset clause, after 150 years the race based methods are dropped and we move on to means based methods to address any discrepancies that might still exist.

So why not use the means based methods from the start? Surely it would be more effective to have a stable system that you don't need to change after 150 years.

Simple truth is that your way won't still that shouting racist little voice in the head. The current way feels better.

It would not work, unfortunately democracy has not just empowered the previously oppressed, it has also empowered the same oppresser, and the oppresser will obviously fight tooth and nails to preserve the status quo, backed up by the same democracy that is supposed to lift up the oppressed.

The race based legislation seeks to override that loophole.

But we have clear and present evidence that your race based utopia doesn't work, as it is currently in play and has failed. Democracy is not the culprit in this.

The race based legislation very clearly seeks to entrench a new oppressor rather than uplift up the oppressed. That is all it does.

Over a Trillion rand stolen in 30 years. 5 or 6 Trillion will be gone in that 150 years. Be sure to make some good provisions for that.

Could you possibly expand on this status quo that you mention? I'm trying to understand what you mean by this.

Some people believe in the finders keepers mentality, so like "apartheid was bad, hard luck to those it did dirty, but I will keep what I got out of the system, you keep what you got, and we start on a clean slate" .
