Has everybody forgotten what happened in Cape Town when the army was deployed in gang areas, when the DA called for them to be deployed?
Yes, what happened? Did the commander in chief listen to the DA and deploy the army or what?

They were deployed. It was a disaster, and they were withdrawn. Soldiers are not allowed to fight citizens plus have no powers of arrest or jurisdiction over civilians. Gangsters are civilians and citizens.

What happened? Did the same thing happen with the zama zamas?

very stupid to deploy a country's military against it's own citizens.
more importantly, military is trained to defend our borders - soldiers shoot to kill, they are not trained for the purpose of urban policing - there is too much that can go wrong, very quickly !

All the shooting was over by the time they were deployed in dbn.

Well, she's been in the party for years. And on some things, she strikes me as someone who is in the moderate wing of the party instead of the classical liberal JS or the more social liberal GHL/Pappas.

She's also been aligned with Gogo and JS many times, like Sarupen.
So was that fellow who was the mayor of Midvaal (now he is spit-shining Zuma's boots). As was Dion George. Current tenure doesn't mean that much. I haven't seen anything of her ideologies except trying her best to keep a low profile. Sarupen has shown remarkable fiscal fortitude and has been praised all round

I think the biggest problem is the cops getting infiltrated by the drug gangs, not necessarily a matter of the cops not having capacity.
No the real problem is the ANC members being involved with drug gangs and then being put into positions of power in the country

This is more about the global restructuring of Nissan than anything the ANC have done unfortunately.

And Chery very likely put an offer on the table that made it easy for Nissan to walk away from a factory without the insane costs to do so.
Is that all you have to say ? Nothing about how we are all gonna be slaves to Chinese masters ? How do you sleep at night ?

Easily, I have accepted our new Oriental overlords, they're less batshyte cray cray than the Orange Don.

I wonder if Chery will be collecting the import incentives and enjoying the tariffs that make ANC SA consumers pay over the top for vehicles?
