I see now why he so desperately wants the DA to compete in Soweto. Basically he will use the same line as he did with Mamelodi - that the 'DA was rejected with contempt', as if the ANC winning in Soweto is some astounding achievement/odd/an upset.

Dude, your Zille is competing to be a Mayor of Joburg, Soweto makes up the biggest voting region in Jozi, no one can win Jozi without having a big presence in Soweto, it is as simple as that, if Zille is as big as she and her supporters make her out to to be, Soweto is the place to be, let's go champ.

That's because they have a patronage system to maintain, at the cost of the tax payers.
