Ramaphosa wouldn't come out speaking so strongly about it if he didn't have some serious backing on it from the other states. The EU won't fall in line with this issue specifically, because it then gives Trump full control over other multilaterals groupings like the G7 and UN, and renders them useless...

Very good points, but in the end neither the AU nor now the EU needs the US to make them useless. The AU has been very successful on that front for many decades after liberation and the EU has flipped the self destruct switch many moons ago.
 
As much as we can all agree that a lot is going wrong in this country and none of us seem to have a clear solution to the challenges we face, what I struggle to understand is the attitude some people display (even on this forum). Many seem almost glad to be proven right that the country is deteriorating, even those who are still living here.

It’s a sad reality to acknowledge that things are not going well, yet at the same time some appear to take a certain satisfaction in pointing out how their negative predictions are coming true. It's crazy business.

I don't think anyone is glad.
We're just incredibly powerless, and these little predictive games is about the only "satisfaction" there is to have on the way to F*ckistan.

I despise what's going on but the only possible "solution" is violence, that's not happening.
So here we are. I also think many people have now finally realised that there's no turning this around, things would need to get way worse before there's a chance of it getting better, so the sooner we rip off that plaster the better.

I've said it many times before, and I will say it again, we are at war, most just don't realise it.

What is strange about that? If someone was warned time and time again and they still do not listen, of course the other person is going to say "I told you so". It is hugely frustrating to keep explaining things to know-it-alls who do not see the disaster coming, and when people seem gleeful, it is because they have finally been proven right.

Yeah, you may not be, but take a moment to actually read what others are posting and pay attention to the tone. Look at the reactions on any social media platform to the Trump post. The tone isn’t just “FAFO” or “I told you so.” It’s openly gleeful.

Yes, it's frustrating; most posts here don't have that tone that is full of "lamentation" or even "anger". They have a celebratory tone hidden behind that "I told you so" rhetoric.

Anything that accelerates the ANCs inevitable implosion is cause for celebration. And their disciples that push propaganda incessantly will never accept they were wrong about anything ever so what else is left other than laughing at them and saying "i told you so"?

Thanks for posting this. It is as if we celebrate our own demise.
All the negativity on these forums is really bad.
And no I do not condone what is happening in our country.
