I just got a phone call from my wife. She went to the Henley-on-Klip post office to pick up a parcel, only to find the doors closed and a sign posted 'This post office is closed due to strike action'.
The staff was sitting inside.

**** 'em all I'm getting birds to deliver my mail.

Also waiting on a few things. It's gonna be a long wait.

Apparently they were protesting at a Cape Town branch (Epping Industria) yesterday and it started turning violent with damage to property and the public being intimidated. Haven't checked the news or other social media.

They probably sent a letter to the union members informing them that the strike is over....

No They didn't. The strike was resolved last week for individuals who got dismissed. But these people were hired and now the strike has restarted this Monday, this is because more casual workers want to be made permanent. It is even worse than before with the out of violence going on and intimidation. So there is no end in sight for a resolution.

I have come to the conclusion that the Post Office is ALWAYS on strike.

Yes, pretty much every branch with exception to ones deep inside malls are closed.

Irony missed.

Take it you work at the PO?

Not entirely sure how your astounding logic comes to that conclusion, but no i don't. Im just frustrated beyond anything because all my packages from overseas have gone missing because of these morons. Also due to the fact that a van outside Saxonwold was burnt to ****, which most likely had my packages, the fact these savages are pissing on peoples parcels as well.

That would be the other conclusion. And it wasn't meant as an insult. I could imagine huge frustration at having just put out one fire to have another spring up.

The logic of these bastards, we're not permanently employed, so we will strike to be permanently employed.

Go look at the facebook page, SAPO employee's are promoting violence and the hurting of people wanting to work.
My PO seems fine, the problem is that there's no parcels coming through and last I heard there's a massive backlog.

Still haven't received any post in my PO box. It normally takes them a few weeks to get through the backlog.
