SA telecoms inertia is paralyzing

i am sure Cara could write these articles in her sleep by now

He has charged the DoC with speeding up developments in telecoms to reduce prices in order to make these services accessible to larger portion of the South African population.

Well I think that basically means that nothing is going to happen.

Oh my! Finally, we're saved! The DoC is coming to our rescue!

If only they had gotten involved sooner... :D

These good words the gov keeps talking is annoying me i hope it comes round and bite them.

Roy Padayachie, revealed that President Thabo Mbeki stated that it is vital for the process of telecoms liberalization to speed up.
Didnt know it was a secret.
Next year Roy will 'reveal' the same old rubbish again, government is all talk and thin on action.

Hehe, you could probably write a little script that just automates old DoC statements to the front page every six months to a year, nothing changes.

SA has redefined inertia. :o

more meetings about the meetings........... wonder what the food & drink was like...

Tip for the President

If you are serious about speeding up developments in the ICT sector. There's a very critical first step you need to make. Face facts and acknowledge that the current MoC of the DoC is not suited to the task. Replace Ivy and appoint someone more qualified. Add in a clause that unless concrete, measurable indicators of progress is achieved, they'll be replaced. To motivate the DoC, cancel all salary increases and bonus and add an incremental reward system for each milestone reached. End result: Work hard and achieve results and they'll be well comepensated. Fail, and you get replaced.

Simple enough. Get that done ASAP and the rest will sort itself out. In fact, applying the same principals in Health Care / Safety and Security would only be in the best interests of the South African citizens.

Not our government's strongest point.

Nice post though.
