I just do know anymore..and this makes my head hurt. I have been crying about proper border control for years. And its appalling, sad and painful to learn what these gov nut cases seem to blurt when pressed for answers.

Shameful stuff..

Tighter border controls would "actually encourage illegal migration."

WTF!! So by the same logic gaming companies that use copy protection are encouraging piracy!!!

What's this moron smoking!

I am so tired of idiots like this making decisions for us, they clearly don't have a clue how or what to do.

They want some cholera to thin out our population too.
Easy if you have aids you can die sooner if you get cholera too.

Please make drugs legal then we will use less.

No, Actually it's more like gaming companies that make it too difficult for people to purchase legal copies will be encouraging piracy. And it's true.

Make it too difficult for people to get into SA legally and you'll have more people entering illegally.

So we leave it open and they will not come???

:confused::rolleyes:

...But don't lift a finger to monitor the situation and you have every person entering illegally.

No, of course they will.
But it's better if we know how many migrants are in the country, who they are, where they come from etc. then to have no idea at all. There are laws in place. You need to have a passport, visa (in some cases) or be granted refugee status. They are not doing away with border control, but not tightening it either.

Wonder why all the Xenophobic attacks?

I hope her house is robbed clean by a Zim-Moz cartel.

That makes no sense. By making it easier for people to get in illegally, surely that would mean more people will just come in illegally?

Like I said, if the threat of being shot and killed during a crossing was real, and there actually were reason to worry about it, then people will think twice about trying it. But right now they just walk in and are welcomed with open arms by their family that is already here and by the government.

I think you're completely misunderstanding the chief gripe here. This has nothing to do with people getting in legally - that remains as is. The issue here is SA will not make a concerted effort to try and clamp down on illegal immigrants by tightening the borders. So, illegal immigration will continue with the same ease it has been allowed to for the past 10 years.
