SA WoW numbers?

1. On TH server (EU) in our Guild alone there is 150+ SA only players
. On that same server there is about 3 other Mavise Guilds (SA only)

2. Won't happen, ever. Bandwitdh in SA is to expensive ;)
 
We have if I have to guess 30-40 guys in our guild. With another 20 I know of in different guilds.
 
I dont see why its not possible anymore especially with saix making un-capped local. They will obviously still need international for logons etc and because sever is hosted locally shouldnt use that much international bandwidth. Maybe its a idea to contact Blizzard again with the latest saix news but for it to be feesable for them they need like 6000 people per server... besides the fact they wont lose any customers buy keeping there servers in france.
 
We need someone to start a petition, someone with balls and knoweledge!, il sighn/swear whatever or wherever i have to to help.
 
a petition to Blizzard to setup Battle.NET in SA has been going on for YEARS (from the time Starcraft and Diablo was released in fact)

This will simply just not happen. Trust me. If in 11 years they don't see the light, they will never see the light

I know its sorta off topic, but something that does irratate me is this 'MASTER SERVER' that comes with games like BF2, BF2142 or COD4 etc...

Game companies need to (like EA for example) need to organise servers for 'regions' but then again, we're probably the onlly country in the f'ing world that has a difference in ADSL (talking about Local & INT) because when I spoke to UK support for World in conflict, they couldn't understand why the traffic was split.

I'd sign the petition if there was one, so that people could use local bw for a local SA WoW server and then the game companies pay for the traffic to get stats etc.

Wow... and everyone not buying petrol for one day did wonders for the petrol price...err...

Blizzard sells 1 million+ copies of their game RETAIL before it even hits the shelves. They make 9 000 000 x $15 (avg) per month.

WHY would they worry about 2000 guys odd not paying their subscription? The only people you will be teaching a lesson to is yourself... and its not a nice lesson either.

It's like saying, "If God doesn't give me my toys NOW I'll hold my breath till he does"

Good luck though... you can do it! start a petition!

well, some other "genius" told me how "incerdibully dum" i am because i was of the opinion that blizzard wont give us a server because we dont have enough people to warrant a new server

i actually would like to know how many SA players we have
 
as far as i know, the Australians have a wow user group that exceeds us a thousand fold, and they cant even get a wow server by them.

Seems you need at least a million users before they even glance in your direction.

We have a loooooooooong way to go ...
 
The only problem is, that there are still a lot of SA players on the US server (myself included), so it's not just about the EU version. So, if they were to put up a server in SA, they would have to put one for US and one for EU.
 
lol, if they where to put one here you would have to transfer your character to the sever :D, I like my server atm expect for the latency. I think there are more ppl in my currect guild than in SA. If you look at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/realmstatus/ there are 222 servers/realms (not sure if its us alone) but thats on average 40,000 ppl per server. I dont think there are nearly 5,000 ppl playing wow in SA. so that mean sorry for us, no server.

Why dont you guys give the local "free" server a go (is it still up?). Tried it one had a 50ms latency :) , but not nearly as good as the offical servers.
 
Im sure that wow has sold more than 2000 copies in s.a since release, even if it was only 2000 im sure blizz would feel an impact and start asking questions, The problem isn't that it would do no good the problem is gettin ppl such as yourself to participate, in that sense you are right it is just pissing in the wind!
 
Ill admit, emus are fun, nothing beats official tho
 
$30,000 means NOTHING to blizzard. they are a behemoth, and their system works like a money eating charm.
