SAA's customer services woes continue

How can anyone expect SAA to honor refunds with their current budget? o_O The new improved strategic majority partner will only provide operational funding and expertise if and when the deal actually gets finalized.

Vintage ANC. 1. Get people to pay for something. 2. Cancel it. 3. Shut down the refund dept.

(Laugh and go home in the new BM)

Any person dealing with the SAA deserves exactly what they get. Even if they lost their life savings for that trip, I could not care less. If you walk into a casino and willingly put R10k on black and the ball falls in red, that is your problem. The same with the SAA. You pay your money over to them, but you are never guaranteed that plane will take off. Its a gamble. If you lose, your problem.

Sadly they will get government funding regardless.

Siri, define oxymoron.
SAA Customer Service

Siri, define 'service' in a SAA context.
You're embarrassing me Howdy. Rather ask KUSA or the SAA Sheep Breeders' Association.

then they should have closed. If I pay for a service I want the service or a refund if they can't deliver on their part of the transaction.

Agreed. Passengers are the people that brings in money for the airline. If people are afraid they will lose money, they are likely to fly other airlines instead. There is no future for the SAA in South Africa. The ANC and their corruption made sure of that. It should still be closed down and not allow people to be scammed out of their money or tax money.

I’ll fly SAA. Compared to some options we have for flying to parts of Africa ide take SAA any day.
also I need to maintain my Staralliance status :)
It’s just the pains of restructuring and getting back on their feet. I’m sure it will pan out to work fine soon.
I use these guys:

No arguments from me. Just saying that expecting a refund for cancelled flights aren't going to happen anytime soon or ever.

We do too. Just not affiliated to any miles earning partners yet but i've been told they are working on it.

I think Airlink currently owns the Africa routes from a business perspective. We use them almost solely now. I want to use the new SAA cause i was long a supporter of them and I know some of their pilots and things but its really difficult. Now they've pulled more common routes they were supposed to launch and moved them to next year. As a business you want the easiest, affordable and pref not-changing-all-the-time options. Currently Airlink wins that one.

****. Special reserve of hate for people that support this airline, spitting in the face of every tax payer keeping this filth flying.

It did not take their current issues to make them a crappy airline, they have been maintaining that status for many many years. Always been at the bottom of my list of transport modes, below rowing and walking.

A screenshot in the article shows the refund department as operating from 08:00 to 16:30 GMT. I doubt that is correct, that would be 10:00 to 18:30 SA time.
