SABnzbd

Question - If i a file couldn't unpack because of the par files, how do you make it download only the files that need re-pairing without downloading the files that are fine? I know in alt.binz it was easy enough.

SAB generally does this automatically but it sounds more like a problem with the archive file trying to extract, this isn't by ancychance CS6 master collection (has problem with deep directories so need to extract manually at say C:\CS6)?

Otherwise you would need to hunt down the files on say binsearch.info and grab the pars and do a manual check with Quickpar. Generally if the option in SAB is set to "D" that is download, repair, extract and delete rar files.

question:

Sabconnect++ has now just stopped working after a day??
So, in sabconnect, url of sabnzbd, api key, usename and password are correct because it says connection succeeded, and can use the SAB button.
But the option on the right click, send link to sabnzbd doesn't work at all on any site tested.

I moved from 0.6.x to 0.7.0 beta5 this week and the fixes/changes was well worth it!

The biggest problem for me the past few months was that NZBMatrix.com's API servers are broken/giving issues, so SABnzbd+ 0.6 would fail to retrieve the .nzb file like 50% of the time!
Now with 0.7 beta, it would still fail, but at least it would retry and actually manage to successfully download the .nzb file at the end of the day!

Secondly, the fact that the Beta version does not download ALL the .par2 files makes a big difference for me since I'm only on a 1Mbps ADSL connection.

Before I moved to the Beta version, I never bothered setting up Post Processing to send the completed downloads to SickBeard, which was a big mistake from my side when I first installed SickBeard. Now SickBeard doesn't scan for completed files and it also gives less errors since I had lots of crap in my completed download folder.

Lastly, I did lose my complete download history when I moved to Beta, but I couldn't care less ;)

So In the end, I'd strongly recommend the Beta if you're on a slow connection or using SABnzbd+ in combination with SickBeard!

Some good advice in here dude. Think I am going to upgrade too.

Can you give some tips on the post processing scripts? I have wanted to do this but never gotten around to it. Would love to have everything automated.

My sab always fails on links from nzbmatrix so I have to manually go and press "try again" to which it works? Anyone know a work around before I spend hours fiddling... I would be ok if it sends me a mail even but it doesnt even do that...

Thanks for the tip off, i tried it on my HP MS and love the little tray icon too :).

They were actually sorting out their APi issues, one suggestion is generate a new APi key in your NZBMatrix profile and update it in SAB, do a restart of SAB aswell. This may solve your issue but report back regardless.

You can try what Yuu said, but I've done that and it didn't change anything.

What fixed it for me was to use the Beta version of SABnzbd+: 0.7.0 beta 5

Hey

I'm on a 1mb line with Mweb and I recently started using SABNZBD with a free Usenet account. I get max download speeds of about 75KB/s. Is this normal?

XSUsenet?
Yes. I get 80 during the day and fullspeed at night. I combine it with the Mweb server which lands me on fullspeed anytime (assuming it's cached).

Yeah XSUsenet :) How would I combine it with the Mweb server? Just add another server to SABNZBD? Please help lol.. I would love to get full speed. I tried setting the number of connections as well as the caching, but that didn't seem to work

Yes. Add another server. Set mweb retention days to 100 and xs as a backup server.

What would I use as the username and password for the new server? Using my free usenet account didn't work

Awesome, that worked. Speeds are up to about 95kb/s now though. The number of connections on both servers are set to 1.. is this okay?

Doesn't matter on a 1mb really. Mine's on 3 for mweb and 2 for the other accounts thpugh.
