sadomain.co.za offline?

I see that my domains are resolving again this morning as well as email functionality for those interrested.

Yes I see our websites and mail are back up, strange but it seems that some test mails I send from Gmail and other valid customers mails still has not arrived. I wonder if these mails will be lost or just delayed. I going to start moving my domains today.

Normally if the mail server cannot be reached due to dns related issues the person sending the mail to the recipient with the dns issue will receive a ndr indicating that mail could not be delivered or that it will keep trying to deliver the mail for the next 3 or 4 days. Hope that helps.

Email I got 4 times on the 11th:

Dear client,

We are in the process of upgrading our systems in order to improve our services.

There is a possibility of intermittent disruptions to services. However, we shall endeavour to keep this to a minimum.

Thank you for your continued patronage and support.

Best Regards,
SA Domain Support

Concider yourself lucky then as I believe most of us got diddly squat that would resemble a notification.

Tis is why you use CloudFlare. You point name servers to their ones and can manage DNS easily yourself while gaining CDN and security benefit

We highly recommend this solution. Whiile our system has multiple nameservers on different continents, I do not know of a DNS service that out performs CloudFlare.

Public Holiday tomorrow 16th!

Also got a website hosted with these idiots. Endless problems

Really this is pathetic, no email warnings, and down for almost the entire weekend!

Sorry to hear about all these issues,
This sounds more than just DNS server issues. Even rebuilding a DNS server is quick.
May be that both DNS servers are in the same cabinet or possibly virtual servers on same host.

Seems a bit odd though but I sure hope they resolve this for you.

I see their site is still down, at least the admin site is up. I have at least started migrating some of my domains. Still can't believe they have issues. Unless they are under attack.

no i spoke to steward , they moved to new i.p range that's why it was down.

2 of my domains is still down , rest is ok so far.

Why are they not answering phones, and how can they be down for a 3rd day if they changing their IP range?

Seriously pathetic.

I tried sending emails to them but their emails are also not working, getting
Mon 2013-12-16 09:56:38: * DNS: 10 second wait for DNS response exceeded (attempt 3 of 3) Mon 2013-12-16 09:56:38: This message is 62 minutes old; it has 0 minutes left in this queue Mon 2013-12-16 09:56:38: Remote queue lifetime exceeded; message placed in retry queue
So my .com domain transfers is waiting for their approval, els i will have to contact the registrar to approve the transfers myself. Lucky I am the Registrant on these domains. Does anybody know how I go about this?

I will be surprised if they have any customers left after this event. This is really very unprofessional.

Well not sure how their system works but if you are the registrant and a transfer request is sent from your new host - a approval email gets sent to the registrant which just needs to be accepted. However ensure the following is disabled before doing so:

1. Privacy Protection
2. Unlock the domain

Hope this helps

Thanks Hostking, the strange thing is I'm the "Registrant" on all my domains and received the transfer emails for all except the .com domains, the transfer emails for these was sent to the technical contact (SA Domain).

Hopefully SA Domain will be back tomorrow.
