Safari 4 released

this is WAY to band width heavy!... just opening it loads up about 10 sites :(

Top Sites isn't exactly bandwidth friendly which is why I disabled it. I'd forgotten it even existed until you mentioned it.

Safari is increadibly fast.
I cannot believe that a browser makes such a huge difference.

Perhaps Chrome should be uninstalled?! :o

Very Nice Pieter

:o

Yes, very fast.
Makes my aging athlon xp machine feel zippy too :o
So, 2 hour browsing conclusion: Clean, concise, unobtrusive.
Impressed so far...

No!! Safari 4 is insanely fast!! Now I'll have to uninstall Google Chrome. *sniff*

Apple is taking over my pc!

Safari 4 for windows - what are people using for adblocking?

Is there a way to disable it via a menu for windows?
Found this very convoluted way in an article based on the beta..
But surely apple can not expect their average browser user to follow this...

Tried the method outlined there but it does not seem to work?

Until I can turn off this feature which HOGS bandwidth this browser is not viable on Windows on S.A. Broadband...

I've just removed the 'top sites' icon and make sure that if I open a new tab, it brings up my home page and not 'top sites'.

Not sure if it's still operating in the background.

Bwana??

The weird thing is, Safari 4 and Google Chrome 3 looks a lot like each other, settings are more or less the same....but Safari just flies!! Well, Chrome is not slow, but there is definitely a speed difference with loading times of web sites.

Just wish I can change the boring color of the menu bar. :)

*Oh, and it's a bit annoying that when you place bookmarks on the menu bar, it doesn't show the web site's icon next to the bookmark.

I concur, Safari looks appealing but the Top site bandwidth issue is a huge deterrent. Having said that the Top site interface is quite stunning and practical to use. Pity it doesn't work on the same principle as the Chrome's thumbnail view...

I find Chromes efficiency is in its simplicity...

Exactly how I feel!

I went back to Chrome....just love it too much. :)

Opera came up with that first.. as always...

Opera FTW!
You know I tried Opera 10 Beta just the other day and wasn't taken in by it.

Chrome on the other hand just fits.

Safari is stunning, honestly it is, an amazing web browser but we paying a premium for bandwidth in SA so it's simply not viable if it's chewing MB's... Pity... And using it without the Top sites makes it less appealing then Chrome.

Chrome is awesome, hell I like it...
