Sahara 1000VA UPS PC doesnt restart

Hi

I have a Sahara Electra UPS connected to my PC with UPSilon software installed.

My PC's bios is configured in "Power" to "Always on" . When there is a power failure the UPS shuts the PC down but when power returns the UPS doesnt switch the PC back on.

I have configured the software to leave the UPS on after PC shutdown; and also tried shut the UPS down but then you have to press the button on the UPS when power returns to switch it back on.

Any ideas please!

i have the same ups with the same problem mine came with winpower software

It's not a problem by the way.

You are turning the PC off - then expecting it to turn on "when the power comes back on", even though the PC never Knows about the power outage!

You see why it's supposedly "not working"?

That would mean Yes.

With all the intermittent load shedding we're experiencing I've changed my BIOS settings to keep the PC off when the power comes back on

Hmm that does make some sense. The pc is not connected to the mains so how will it know when the main electricity feed is back to normal? The UPS will probably not die completely in a shortish power failure so the pc will always think that the electricity is ok.
