Somehow, years ago, I found myself on the Sahara Cape Town mailing list. I wasn't overly pissed off receiving the constant emails, as I've always had an interest around IT stuff.

Years later, I am now a reseller for many of the distributors in and around Cape Town, although I have not been in contact with Sahara at all in this regard.

Somehow, the same address recently found itself on the Sahara Midrand list too - which results in me receiving every email twice (once from CT, once from JHB).

I have now repeatedly tried to unsubscribe, using the process that they suggest at the bottom of the email, and to date, I am still receiving 2 Sahara emails at a time in my inbox.

I'm appealing to all myBB users, and pretty much everyone else too, in this case and in all others -

Please don't support companies who spam.

So you have not taken the time to pick up the phone and sort it out? yet you can find the time to make a post.

Stop being so farkin lazy and phone them and tell them you don't want their email anymore.

Damn do your hands flap a lot? Cause you sure seem like a drama queen to me.

I had phoned them minutes before I posted and we'll see if that makes any difference. That doesn't change any part of what I have said above, though.

Let me give you a step-by-step:
1) By phoning, I went to the source of the problem to fix it (wow, I must not be lazy! Score!)
2) Made the problem public knowledge (in this forum) so that others can judge for themselves and act accordingly.

Does that clear things up for you?

...I am still trying to figure out why I'm even bothering to respond to a useless, unwarranted post like that.

don't know who your email provider is - but just report as spam - no more mail in your inbox - problem solved.

If you don't agree that companies shouldn't derive benefit from the fruits of their spammage, that's your perogative...

Oh, and good luck selling the rest of those databases - sure you have a couple of clients lined up! :)

Well i for one love when sahara send me their specials, cpu's like 100-150 cheaper than anywhere else :D

Hope taking the time to phone them will help change this massive problem that is ruining your inbox :D.

Without directing this to anyone in particular, one SHOULDN'T have to pick up the phone to get your email addy off their mailing list. That's what the UNSUBSCRIBE route is there for. I reported them as spam:D

Apparently not. Since the time of you sending this message, I have received 3 emails from Sahara Midrand Marketing.

Please, continue your own ego-inflation. I'm sure you'll find comfort in some more sarcastic responses.

If you cant unsubscribe from the spam that Sahara is sending you via the link they HAVE to put in their email then they are breaking the law.

Let us know how this turns out. Ignore killa, he just likes arguing for the sake of arguing.

You are currently on our mailing list If you wish cancel this subscription, please reply to this message with the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the Subject line. Please retain the original text or this email address to enable us to identify the record.

Now just phone to get prices/lists.

I've tried unsubscribing via the link numerous times. Doesn't work.

That's all well and good - now if you'd just follow their instructions there from the bottom of the email, I'm sure you'll notice that it does about as much as a call to the MTN Helpdesk.

:D:D:D:D

So I have now received 7 emails since clicking the unsubscribe link,
and since phoning them myself to ask to be removed from the list.

And then another 7 obviously from the Cape Town branch.

Anyone got any ideas??
