The main reason why AMDs Geode LX is better than the Atom from Intel is because of all that is integrated into it.
It is pretty much a System-On-Chip solution. AMD are the masters of CPU integration (did integrated memory controller before intel) and with the Geode LX you get, amongst other things, dual head integrated graphics and a DDR memory controller - all for 1.8 watts. (TDP 3.6 W)
The intel atom sucks down 2~2.4W and does not have any of those integrated feature meaning you will need a northbridge that also sucks down more watts.
Remember, these CPUs are aimed at the low power/low budget segment. High clock speeds and blistering performance take a second place to power efficiency. Besides, there is also the NX and that can go down to 300Mhz and is based on the K7 which kicked the crap out of intel.

Sahara is ok I suppose. My Sahara Lappie gave me no hassles till it got stolened. The problem with them though is support. Needed a new battery for Lappy and went through a 5 day long mission to try get one only to be told after all that that they dont stock spares for that model anymore. odd since it was just over 3 years odd old.

Erm, those games struggle on most integrated desktop solutions (bar AMD 790GX chipset). There is no chance in hell you are ever gonna play 3D games on the current set of netbooks. The gfx is integrated in the CPU !
