SAIX Cable Break

There is currently a major cable break over at SAIX, affecting SAIX account holders.

Engineers are attending.

ETA: Unknown at present.

I spent an hour trying to fix this damn thing up with no success. Eventually phone the DSL helpline and it is engaged and I am like ok... maybe its not my line. Phone 10210, there is a problem. I shoulda just phoned telkom first.

If its a problem with the DNS servers, you can try using OpenDNS's name servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

This report is not accurate. The DNS problem arose at 12:37am, not 7:30am. Look at all the posts in the other threads on this section in the early hours of the morning! They were not restricted to the Pretoria area.

I was able to resolve it by using OpenDNS's name servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220, via telephone to my daughter at home.

I had DNS problems from the stroke of midnight, which I could only resolve by using OpenDNS.
