I only get my increase in April, but man-o-man was it worth the wait: 15% holy balls. Though it was pro-rated to 10% of gross because I only started the job in May 2012. And an excellent bonus of more than a 13th check which was also pro-rated. Would have been even more if it wasn't pro-rated. At one point you can't believe.

I'm in a happy shocked state. Feels so weird to be working for people who put their money where their mouth is and value their employees.

Dang! The company I work for allocated a cash component to each department for salary increases.
So if the increase budget only allows for an average increase of 6% per employee it means that some people only get 3 or 4% so that others can get 8%. :(
And then they have the audacity to say that the increases are KPI related ...

Sounds very much like BCX.

got +7% while average was less than that. Bonuses is up next...

Not sure if I have missed a thread about salary increases for 2013 somewhere.

So, get one?

Taking inflation (let's say 5.7%) into account and also the additional tax if you fall into a new tax bracket. What's a fair increase (percentage wise) in real terms?

I am being vague with regards to industry on purpose. :whistling:

Edit: not "new tax bracket". Just the tax increase that comes with an increase.

We are getting CPIX +1 this year. Then just CPIX next year as part of our retarded 4 year negotiation. Woop woop. Company wins again. Who ever agrees to this bull$h!t?

Amazing how everyone gets a vote, everyone votes 'no', then they still do it anyway... and the union says nothing.

I normally get increases in August. I feel underpaid and considering approaching my employers and asking for an increase in a month or two. Last year I got a normal 10% increase.

I used to get 15% - 25% increases in SA.

In the UK they are seldom more than 4%, yet I seem to have more money in UK.....

Must be inflation?

2012 - It's been going bad 4%
2013 - Lawd knows. I'm just hoping it's not a -2% Cause my salary has been shrinking for the last 3 years.

If you're getting 0%, you're earning less. At a minimum it should be inflation...

I commend you for staying there so long. After the second year I'd have been out the door.

They tried giving me a 3% increase over a 1.5year period. Obviously I had a bitch session and told them honestly that I am starting to look elsewhere.

So they came back to me with a 12.5% increase and a promotion... Which sucks! Haha. Now my targets are double from what they were so they're going to easily make back that 12.5

I guess they won that round...However, it means career progression for me and a better looking cv so it's not all bad.

So your salary is worth less this year (not even taking etolls into account)...

Yep.

But I am investing 15% of my gross salary in discresionary investments, I increased my rental properties rent by 20% (new tenants and had installed a new kitchen and such and will be reflooring the place and is now more market related to the area), almost no debt left. So actually I feel richer already so this is a bonus amount.

cant see why people strip a 10% increase down to like 1 or 2 %..saying 2% for this and 3% for that etc..
if your CTC goes up by 10%, then so does everything else.. your pension etc, your deductions etc.. and effectively your cash left at the end goes up that 10% as well.
we get an across the board "cost of living" increase, that is exactly on the inflation mark.
I'm happy.
we then get 2 chances per year to pitch for "performance based increases/promotions".
I'm happy with that too!
