You know, I just recently had my annual salary review. Last years review went well, but the increase was CPI basically.

This year was a bit better. But I'm curious, what sort of % increase are you fine folk getting these days?

This is what we got last year.

Non performer = O %
Developing performer = 4 %
New appointee = 5.5 %
Full performer = 6.8 %
Excellent performer = 9 %

Will most probably be almost the same this year. Our salary review is in October.

around 7%.. but it's not based on performance. The amount of the raise would be determined on where you are in the band.. as a way to normalize salaries across the band.

Got a 100% increase last year, looking at 0% this year though.

The problem with these discussions is that there is no way to gauge the scale of an increase from percentages, unless you know what it is a percentage of. 5% of R60,000 is ok, whereas 5% of R6,000 is pretty kuck. And I doubt that anybody is actually going to post their salaries...

I got a 6.7% in April and decided...F### this. I then applied for another job and got a 15.6%. Today is my first day at the new job.

Same company, different department.

True, but in our organisation I earn a lot more than most and we all got a similiar percentage. So there is some validity in discussing the percentage without knowing how many R's it translated into
