Salary increases

Not too Sure, Think I heard head Office mention that she was giving us a 20% increase at a meeting we had 3 weeks ago, I don't tend to listen in on these said meetings...... don't even know what my salary is to be honest, Have'nt seen a payslip since 1991.....

Although I may belong to a union they cannot negotiate salaries on my behalf...
Why? Don't quite see the point for high ranking staff.

Should be actually getting my increase soon...gonna save all of it though so won't really "see" any of it.

Unions which don't negotiate salaries usually provide various other benefits to their members: e.g. disability cover, life cover, education allowances which become much cheaper when negotiated on a group basis.

It happens a lot in industries that use a lot of contractors as employers generally can't offer similar benefits on an affordable basis because of the constant workforce movements.
