SAME SMTP for both IS and SAIX?

OK

Now please read ..

Sceniro

You have a IS ADSL account and a iBurst account directly with both of these 1st Tier ISPs.

IS - smtp.isdsl.net
iBurst - smtp.iburst.co.za

Both SMTP Servers dont use SMTP Auth - thats a fact.

U currently using IS ADSL with smtp.isdsl.net as your SMTP Server.U now switch onto the IBURST network and continue to use smtp.isdsl.net.Now do u think u will still be able to send mail ???? The answer is no.By enabling SMTP is not gonna work. Its a fact.

And to Kloon , dont act like a NOOB.

A mail hosting company means that they host your incomming mail.So u can pop the mail. Its not their duty to provide smtp servicesIf they allow you relay thru their server well u lucky. In SA all the 1st tier ISPs provide a SMTP Service already.Eg if iam with a SAIX based 2nd Tier ISP.They dont have to give you access to their smtp server. All u do is use smtp.saix.net.

What cheapskate ISP are you using ;)

At the end of the day - if you have a mail account with an ISP then they should be providing with an outgoing server as well and this should include SMTP AUTH. If you choose not to use it then thats your choice but then don't come crying about the fact that you can't send mail.
