Hi

I just want to hear what's the best approach of doing the above mentioned.
Is it even possible?
Sorry if this has been asked before

It is possible. Just dont know how.

I have a Yahoo e-mail address. If you buy a yearly subscription you can retrieve your e-mail using POP and you can send e-mail using their SMTP server with your user/password as authentication. This works for MTN, ADSL, Vodacom etc.

I think what he meant was using his Telkom SMTP and use his 3G connection to send mail. AFAIK its possible, just never seen it done. I always have to explain to the customer to switch between servers where they use theri respective connections, i.e. use smtp.vodacom.co.za/smtp.vodamail.co.za when they using 3G and use their ISP SMTP when they back on ADSL.

I've even tried multiple times doing it, it just dont work when i do it.

Or as IC said use Gmail's smtp for mail on Telkom and 3G. Up to you. :)

Thanks for the replies.

About Google, I thought you have to use the Gmail interface in order to use Gmail's SMTP server?
So you're saying you can set it up in a mail client with both Google's pop + smtp servers and it'll work?

Will it also work if you use your private domain's incoming server and Gmail SMTP? That would be cool.

Probably not very fast on 3G though.
