Samsung Galaxy Mega is huge

The Galaxy Mega is new now?

But yeah the Xperia Z Ultra is even bigger and looks even more ridiculous.

I tell you what if I had a smaller phone than my Note 2 I probably wouldn't have realised I'd been pick pocketed the other day. When it left my pocket I instantly felt a void. Got it back after a little scuffle.

If you had a smaller phone the douche probably wouldn't have seen it.

And there I thought the future was about miniaturization,seems we are going backwards with this.

Things with screens get bigger. Look at how much bigger TV screens have gotten over the years.

Yes bigger for home entertainment but I was referring to things you carry around.I think the trend in tablets is more from 10.1 to 7 inchers, on the portable computing side ultrabooks(13.3 inchers to 11 inch) are the in things etc etc.I know it's early days but I hear/read talk about smart watches,google glasses and so on and that leads me to my miniaturization point and this phablet phenomenon is the exact opposite.

16cm ..defug??

Have Samsung lost their minds?

That is just too big for a phone.

I fully agree with you there, unless you put it down(on flat surface) and be doing a lot of video calling,but for a quick take out and answer/make a call it's just too big.

I'm alright with the Note2's size - even though it's a bit of a stretch when you're operating it with one hand.
If the hardware buttons were removed and that area was part of the screen it would be a perfect fit imo. Maximum viewing size, yet still comfortably operable with a single hand.

I highly doubt you could operate this phone with one hand at all, let along, comfortably.

Also, as far as comparing the Mega vs the Tab 2:

Battery:

Tab 2 ( Left ) -- VS -- Mega (Right) :

4000 mAh battery || 3200 mAh battery
Stand-by: Up to 1190 h (2G) / Up to 1080 h (3G) || Up to 420 h
Talk time: Up to 40 h (2G) / Up to 20 h (3G) || Up to 17 h (2G) / Up to 10 h (3G)

Half the battery life?
Sure, it's a thick vs thin bezzle... but damn!
