Just make sure you know about the external SD card restrictions, they are a PITA

There has been 2 instances where my phone became unresponsive since I updated. Had to restart but no other issues. Think its close to a month now.

I understand that the Note 2 received an update, I have only updated my Note 2 once system I got it to Version 4.1.2 (Vodacom OTA). I heard that the firmware version after that was problematic so I unticked my Auto Update and therefore I didn't receive any further updates. I would like to know if the latest firmware is stable or still problematic? is it worth the upgrade. I don't have an problems with my note 2 so I don't mind not having to upgrade but if the latest firmware is worth the upgrade then why not...

Mine is a bit quicker, a bit slicker, more battery efficient on KitKat, coming from 4.3.
That said the new SD card right permissions are a PITA.

Darnit, my note 2 appears to have kicked the bucket, battery was fully charged, phone powered down by itself and is now completely dead - won't charge, switch on or anything :crying:

Can't you just borrow a battery somewhere and see if it powers up? If it's only the battery it's far less of a loss.

I don't know anyone else with a note 2 but I'll take it to vodacom later. I hope and pray it's still under warranty, can't remember exactly when I got it but it must be close to 2 years so holding thumbs...
