Samsung Galaxy Note 2

What kernal are you guys using with CarbonROM?

I used Lean Kernel when I had CarbonRom, but I had wakelock issues and at the time I thought it was the kernel...now I am leaning towards some or other app that was the culprit.

Currently I use the NEAK kernel (on Liquid Smooth Rom )which should run on most AOSP 4.2.2 roms. Very nice and smooth thus far. It allows voltage control aswell but no OC.

Just have to say its day 1 of my Galaxy note 2 number 2.... The last one was nicked a week ago... got my new one yesterday, only activated today and it feels like a different phone to the last :s

I am impressed, the first one was marble white...maybe that is it...but the new one is awesome all over!!!

Thanks. I was going to give RedPill a go. But i shall try NEAK first. (I think i used NEAK on a Samsung based ROM a while back)
Most of my current Wakelock issues are caused by google maps and google+

That sounds odd. Location services turned on or off?

Give NEAK n go, maybe it helps. I use wakelock detector to check for wakelocks if you're not using it yet.

Also running wakelock detector. Ignoring the 500 odd wakelocks by Chrome right now, the next highest one was Maps.
Location services was on.

I'm just using the one that came with it. I think it's their own modified kernel (probably modified from Cyanogenmod)

I will try that first.

Any luck with solving the wakelocks?

I flashed Carbon last night. Battery life seems fantastic. I am not installing chrome of Maps yet just so i can get a feel of what the battery life is like without them.

So far i only have wakelocks for the AlarmManager.

Battery life was awesome on Carbon for me too.

My last charge lasted 1d 19hrs with 25% battery left with normal usage :)

Did you flash the latest version, 1.8, that just came out?

I loaded Sungsonic rom last week. Really excellent ROM which also allows for any application/ game to be used in dualscreen. What killed the rom was the extremely terrible sound quality (loudspeaker and headphones). The sound was significantly higher but going past 50% would cause distortion to the point that it hurt my heart more than my ears.

I'm on Project AOSP which is freaking A :D No FC's and outstanding battery power.

With my first android phone I always wanted to have the latest software version and at the time odin was the user interface taht would allow you to upgrade the downloaded copy.... since I have my note 2... its so great I dont want regret upgrading that way so for now I think I will wait a while longer for Samsung to release Android 5.0 Key lime pie http://www.techradar.com/news/phone...ime-pie-release-date-news-and-rumours-1091500 or http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19736_7-57583272-251/what-to-expect-from-android-key-lime-pie/

I'm afraid you'll probably have to wait close to a year for the local Samsung KLP release. That's way too long for me, and by that time I'll probably have the Note 3.
