Samsung Galaxy Note 2

I would also like to add that the issues with the ME6 roms is what kept me from flashing it to my phone. I'm just not prepared to take that chance.

I'm sure you are going to enjoy PA as much as everyone else does. ;)

Thanks, and I agree 100%. I have read many many threads on XDA about IMEI/EFS issues on ME6 roms.

I thought it was across ALL roms.

Yup, installed yesterday, and all went without a hitch.

My phone was a little bit choppy initially, but after a reboot it sorted itself out. Very nice and smooth!

I'm glad to hear everything went well. Give it a couple of days to settle and be amazed at what you have been missing out on all the time. :D

I am already seeing it. Interesting to see how much smoother games run, this even though my CPU clock speed is still stock vs 1.8ghz I had on the stock ROM.

Battery life also looks good thus far :)

Sorry, what firmware are you running? Anroid version? baseband version?

PA 3.99 (4.3 rom) stock rom kernel. Previously I had Stock 4.1.1 with the perseus kernel clocked @ 1.8ghz. Baseband is XXALIH

Has anybody had problems with headphones or a headset on Paranoid Android? Mine has stopped working and I'm trying to work out if the headphone jack is broken, or the software doesn't support. Can anyone try and let me know?

Try use Tasker and Secure Settings to force the phone to go into headset mode, then check...

So I'm contemplating trying paranoid Android but it's not as easy to find as cm is. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the latest build for the note 2, as well as the correct gapps file for this rom. Not sure if I even need gapps with pa?

I'm still on DLK7 and don't experience any issues with signal strength.

Yes the ME6 roms uses another modem, that however does not apply to PA since the issues is uniquely related to Samsung roms.

Did you flash the DLK7 modem yourself ( previously or ever )? Maybe with a previous ROM? I see that DLK7 is listed as the correct modem for Vodafone SA. But I have a ALIH modem, which was on the phone from stock.

PA doesn't show any signal ( 0 dmb 99 asu ) on my phone, but everything works perfectly. I read that it might be due to the modem...thus my reason for asking.

Btw, the latest PA build (0913) is a lot better for me than the 0905 one. Battery life is waaaay better. The phone is in deep sleep more often as well.

Noob question are there incremental updates on PA or do you have to re flash for each update?

I didn't flash the modem myself, and I don't think it may have been flashed with a ROM (the last Samsung ROM I had on my phone was DMB6). I got my phone from Vodacom, so that may answer your question.

I just dirty flash each update & PA Gapps every time.

I may just add that you do not have to flash gapps again when doing a "dirty" flash. Gapps are only required when doing a clean install. If I recall correctly, PA changed the requirements to flash gapps after a "dirty" flash a while ago. No need to do that anymore, unless you're flashing a newer gapps version.

Thanks for the heads up. The PA thread on XDA still states that Gapps has to be flashed with each update...I haven't bothered to read through all 95 pages :o

Edit : I see there is another update 0915, that has been uploaded today :)
